People keep saying it would be lore-breaking.
You are wrong.
SE wouldn't even consider the possibility, let alone legitimately make it a planned feature, if they didn't think it possible lore-wise somehow.

Lightning Strikes
Burgeoning Dread
Breaking Brick Mountains
Tell you what. Give me a good explanation for each one of these and how not a single one is lorebreaking and I might just concede to your point.
Final Fantasy Dissidia and the SE Multiverse. FFXIV is but one universe in a multiverse existence. At least this is how it was explained. Though I think I've covered the nonlorebreaking aspect fairly well in a post above. By the way every time I see your banner it makes me want to get the Odin Helm and glamour it lolLightning Strikes

15:59 Q. What happened to the concept of Primals roaming around out in the land? The whole FC summoning thing is part if not a big reason behind smn getting the peice of crap looking egi thing in the first place. And if you would be so kind as to point me to a recent link that SE have mention any word of this b/c last time I think yoshi talked about that was E3 2013, which is before 2.0 lunch and maybe one or 2 statement about it around 2.1.
SE got ppl hyped on FC summoning and pissed off a good bit of summoner when they saw what they got as summons. But would you be so kind as to provid link please.
Yoshi-P: This has not gone away, it's still on our list of tasks. However, we want it to feel natural within the world and main scenario, and we haven't quite figured this out yet.

Lightning Strikes and Burgeoning Dread, I can understand being explained away by the Dissidia Multiverse. The Breaking Brick Mountains comes direct from Dragon Quest, which has absolutely zero precedent setting foot in Final Fantasy lands. Not only that, but DQ was initially an Enix title. For XIV to assimilate DQ lore would open up the possibility of not only Enix's entire roster entering FFXIV, but also Eidos.
That means that, if it weren't lorebreaking and anyone could come in using the multiverse theory, we'd start seeing Gabriel Celeste, the Ten Wise Men, Lara Croft, Adam Jensen, and a host of other really really out-of-place characters.
I mean, do I mind that it's lorebreaking that any of these characters could come in at any time? A few of them yeah (Especially the Eidos characters), but not all of them. Doesn't mean they're not lorebreaking.
...and think about it. I mean really THINK. Look at Ifrit. He doesn't even take orders from the Amal'jaa. What in the name of the Twelve are you thinking that he'll somehow miraculously bend his knee to a bunch of humans? There is just no way whatsoever that could happen with the lore as it stands right now.
These 2 both explain themselves. Lightning can travel time/dimensions. Shantotto had all her clones/other dimension selves go back to their own dimensions. Due to some of them being evil (or at least some having the possibility), it really wouldnt be a stretch to think some would instead to go another dimension.Lightning Strikes

Breaking Brick Mountains is just golems made by bricks, instead of some other substance that came directly from the earth.
