This is one of those strange oddity type bugs. Depending on my mood, I'll either just leave my cheapo speakers to play music and sound or if I want something to sound better, I'll wear my Sennheiser headphones. This by itself is not an issue, however, if I'm already in Final Fantasy XIV and I attempt to plug in the headphones to override the speakers, the music and sound die in FFXIV, even if I unplug the headphones again. The same is true if I have the headphones plugged in and unplug them to switch back to the speakers.

I believe I've narrowed this down to being a Windows 7 related issue and how it handles the switching of sound device, as my friend who uses Windows XP does not experience this.

It's not a big issue, just somewhat of an annoyance if my headphones are giving me a headache through prolonged usage and I have stop what I'm doing and logout of the game so I can continue to have sound and music.

I should note that only FFXIV is affected when I make the switch, all other programs that I might be using (Google Chrome with a YouTube page open for instance) continue to work as intended.
