"Recruit a friend" code thread - New player exp boosts!

I'm so aggravated. I recruited a friend to the game who paid for a 90 day subscription so we could get all the rewards. We didn't receive the items yet and come to find out it's because of the 30 day free play. The only other option I found out was that he would need to purchase the time cards for instant rewards, however there is only time cards for 60 days that I saw.

What good are the rewards if you can't use them when they are first starting the character? Was this not thought through by SE or am I missing something? What can I do? Please advise.
