Exactly. Whats the point in making all the icons different? Most people are not going to commit to memory what each one is and would mouse over it anyways to see what it is. Alot of the ores/stones are different but I still have to mouse over them to see what they are.
If we follow your logic why bother to have any icons at all? Just have one icon for everything and mouseover everything to tell what it is. Yet we have different icons for cloth types, for ingot types, for gemstones... What you're saying is "we have enough different icons now because Eye_Gore says we do".
If someone has the following on their retainer:
Animal Sinew
Beast Sinew
Hippogryph Sinew
Raptor Sinew
Diremite Sinew
He has to mouseover all of them to see which is which.

Nobody has 6 different keys on their keychain that all look alike and think it's a good idea.

Thank you for your opinion on the subject. I care and the devs care, or we would not have different icons for things already would we? It is clear you do not care.
Perhaps we should just have black circles that are all the same for all new items since like you said we have to mouseover things anyway. I'm sure nobody would mind.
We're back to an argument against me that boils down to "rex1976 thinks it's ok how it is so that should be enough".
