    It's ok but it could be better.

    1. Add a token system. If you get no drops from a coil instance, get a token related to it. Then have a vendor that will trade say 10 tokens for one piece of gear from that instance. So you do T6 for 10 weeks, get nothing you want each time and trade the tokens for the one piece of gear that hadn't dropped for you. It's a way to make RNG drops less bullshit without handing out gear.

    2. Let you repeat coil maps you've cleared but do not allow you to roll on loot or gain a token if you've already cleared it. Not the same as a loot lockout but just that you can only get loot the first time through. This would let people help their friends out without adding the CT style drop grind. This could also be used to practice cleared rounds if your group feels you didnt beat it very smoothly.


    3. Related to 2 but make the savage coil a different lockout. No repeating it after clearing it, no drops but lets say 2 of the tokens for clearing it or just one token if you already cleared the normal. This way more people can try it out without getting locked into more than they can bite off and the people who strive to beat it can get rewarded with more than just achievements or edick.

    4. Make the ST minion drop per party instead of for the whole alliance. lotting against 23 people is dicks

    As I've said in the past, the only alternative is no lockout is terrible drop rate so that you just grind it until you get what you need. We get our 100% usuable item drop rate because there is a lockout. There is no alternative to this.

    No, loot lockout is not a valid alternative.

    Here's a shock revelation because you just pulled the people will vote with their wallet card: The game is doing very well so it seems a satisfactory amount of customers are happy with the current product? "Customers don't pay for something they are not satisfied with" is economic advice that I'm sure people actually trained in finance and management, like the ones at SE, have grasped probably in early childhood. So yes it is their problem when their grievance is actually of little consequence to SE, and it turns out most customers are just fine playing content they like and ignoring what they do not.

    It is cliche to tell people to leave, but in all honesty you may not be missed at all.

    Every SCoB drop you get is 100% usable? We have had 10 bard belts and 6 tank feet drop. They go to the floor. I wish I was guaranteed at least one useful drop each week instead of going 4 weeks in a row with nothing to roll on.

    See, I was having a conversation with my friend about this topic today, and he brought up a good point. MMORPGs aren't meant to be beaten. You are not supposed to be able to say "I've done everything in the game there is to do." The players that actually can (assuming they are telling the truth and not ignoring content they don't enjoy as much or don't care about), are an extremely tiny microscopic minority. At the moment, believe it or not, second coil is not meant for a majority of the playerbase. When 2.4 comes out I'm sure 2nd coil will be adjusted and receive echo buffs just like 1st coil did with patch 2.2. And this will allow a larger chunk of the population to experience content.

    I keep having to repeat myself, but, this is how MMOs are, lol. New content comes out and only a tiny % of players get to experience it until the next big update or expansion in which it becomes more accessible to the average player (whether that is thru nerfs or simply new tools/abilities/equipment being added to the game). You aren't meant to be able to do everything in the game immediately, and pretty much every MMO has and always will have gated and locked content. Any MMO that doesn't is probably dead.

    It's true that MMORPGs are not meant to be beaten. That would generate an exit condition where the idea is to retain players as long as possible. The part that is problematic is how they are deploying the challenge content. There is a difference between teaser bosses and building an entire section of lore around an area, thus making it feel integral to see all of the game world. The second a section is built like that, people start caring if they can experience it or not that are NOT challenge oriented players, and that is where this entire issue with coil begins.

    If you haven't already noticed, people have been voting with their wallets the entire time given how many sub for maybe a month and then stop paying for a few at a time until the next patch comes out.

    I'm okay with the idea that a small group of players have DA UBERZ gear because they spent gobs of time and frustration to get it.

    I have no problem with that at all TBH. Raids are stressful (I haven't done one yet, but they come off that way) and when I login into a video game to relax, last thing I need is some nerdrage raid leader screaming at me cause my DPS isn't 400+ at all time. No thanks, I'll pass - the gears all yours. I'll work on crafting my own equipment - will it be the best? Obviously not, but at least I can have alittle pride of ownership with self crafted gear - and still enjoy the game and keep my sanity...
