I've signed up for every single current content Raid and Trial as a Summoner. I've now been in queue for over 4 hours. Is this normal? Because this is unplayable. 4+ hours of queue, only to likely get into a group of failures that can't handle the content.

No really, is this how it works now for DPS in the 2/3 of a year I've been away?

That's not how it is for me. Very rarely the DF will bug and you'll essentially never get in unless you queue again

Well, after relogging and trying again, I'm pretty sure this isn't a bug. Over an hour now and still nothing. I'm pretty sure there's just no one playing this game anymore.

People don't seem to do difficult content (raid/trial) on the random DF much. They preform a group with friends.

If you queue for a regular dungeon you see that people still play the game. Or go hunting in the open world.

Which Raid and Trials are we talking about? If you're talking about CT, that has taken a while since ST came out. If you're referring to the EX modes, most people party finder those.

My character's pretty young, but whenever I que as a healer or a tank for a dungeon, I get a very quick pop. Considering what a lowbie he is, that speaks of a healthy population of players. I think what you're experiencing is just the congested glut that naturally arises from a popular role.

As mentioned if you chose labyrinth of the ancients as one of them that could be causing the issues.
As it's pretty much ignored now it's sequel is out

Thanks for the responses folks. I'm queuing as a DPS and I'm mainly queuing for story content fights like Leviathan and Ramuh Trials as well as turns 2-4 of Coil of Bahamut. I queued with an old healer friend of mine after this thread was made and got more or less instant queues. So I'm guessing that this server just has an extraordinarily imbalanced healer/tank class to damage class preference.

If you're dead set on DPS try MNK or DRG. They have shorter queue times than ranged due to the DF trying to create balanced parties and the overabundance of BRD and BLM skewing the ranged DPS numbers.

You did the right thing buddying up with a healer. Its about the only fast way to get into dungeons as a dps.
