    A Must Have Future Class - IMO

    Rougue/Ninja class will be available soon in the game and everyone is looking forward to it. I do hope SE would add such class as:

    Yeah, I am actually looking forward to that. These classes that I posted meant for new class and not for 3rd job but of course the game would eventually go to that direction. ^_^

    Well if they are meant to be new classes, in my opinion, they shouldn't need other class leveled to 50 already. That's just ridiculous in my opinion.

    These jobs lack any sense of balance, lore to explain why they exist and where they came from, and how they would mesh with the already existing jobs. Honestly, I love these threads, they're a dime a dozen and almost no one gets them right. Throwing out abilities and jobs because you can is a good way to not only get mocked, but show that you have no idea how to actually create a working part of the game.

    The problem with the classes requiring a level 50 to "unlock" them is that people will then assume that they are innately more powerful than the other classes, which can be unlocked at level 10 on your first class. It's the same problem that Blizzard had when they called Death Knight a "Hero" class and required a higher level to unlock it instead of being from the get-go.


    That being said, here's my comments on the classes themselves:

    -Templar -> Zealot: This just sounds thematically wrong to me. In most fantasy/RPGs Templars are generally considered to be higher in rank than most soldiers and also tend to have a militaristic or martial background as a part of a larger religious organization. Zealots tend to be anybody who feverishly or devoutly believe in a faith to a point of extremism. While the two can be linked due to religious fervor, I doubt that we, as adventurers, would pursue this route or of Ishgarde would allow a Templar to wander about like that.

    You could break these up into two different class/jobs and the theme would probably work better.
    Initiate-> Templar: Melee DPS with a 2h Mace.
    Acolyte-> Zealot: Darkness-based caster with scrolls/dolls.

    Hunter-> Sniper: There's already going to be a "gun" class coming and it's term is probably going to be Marksman/Musketeer if it's a true dps class. Otherwise I'm fine with this. Though I think this opportunity is better spent as a second Job offer branching from Archer, rather than it's own Class/Job. That way you can move better support skills onto Bard and better dps skills onto this branch and keep the two different.

    Knight-> Heavy Knight: The problem with the name is that Paladins in the Japanese client are actually called "Knight" and not "Paladin" like it is in the English Client. Aside from that, the problem is that I would go a different route if you were going to keep this line of thought. Here are my examples:
    Squire-> Grand Knight
    Mercenary-> Soldier
    Rune Fencer-> Mystic Swords(wo)man

    Any of those would be fine. There's also a thematic problem: There's no Kings in Eorzea at this time. The closest thing that we, as players have access to at this time is the Sultana of Ul'Dah. The Sultansworn grant us access to Paladins, so that wouldn't be the best fit. Alexander is probably a primal (my bet is in Garlean Empire too :P) so we wouldn't want to use his will

    Sage-> Magus: Typical FF Mythos has Sage over Magus in terms of prestige and overall skill. Sages tend to be masters of both White and Black magics. Whereas Magi tend to be the face of the supreme destructive force of black magic. That may not hold true in FFXIV, but most classes are built from some part of FF mythos at this point. This would be my suggestion:

    Apprentice-> Magus.

    I like the fact that you had ideas and shared them on the forums, but you should take a look at some of the other class/job posts from Mimilu and see how to build a better class structure
