im kinda tired of my sig and its out of date what are some good places to get good sigs?? i dont like the site i have mine through right now

I like http://xivpads.com/ because you can upload your own picture and the numbers/image updates as your lodestone profile changes.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Click on Sig Gen to start, then New Template. You can see what other people have done under View Signature Designs and generate your own from any layout you like.
My original template is at http://xivpads.com/?Signatures/Gallery/View/1346. You can see what my hair looked like at the time.

To use a background image I think you need to save it as a .png file. Then you should should be able to just drag/drop it onto the screen. I think only things that overlap the background image will be included in the final sig.

To actually include your character image, click on Character in the lower left and check the box for Portrait. Avatar will give you just the head shot like I use. You can then click and drag to move elements around. When you have an element selected there is a properties window on the right you can use to resize.

so it was telling me i had to make an account then log in and go into account settings to add my toon... it may just be the EI that my job has may not work with the site..

but its not letting me click on account settings..

It may be browser settings. The site uses a lot of html 5 and not all browser versions can handle it.

Clicking on Account Settings should bring up an overlay window with a tab for Characters.
You pick the server and type in the character name. It will queue it up. You need to click on the Characters tab again to refresh. It will show your character under "Characters Pending Verification" along with a code like "pads:65d5a0ccad74de5966c3"
This is so it can confirm that you are actually the owner of the character.
Then go to your lodestone profile (like http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/2341053/). You will need to log into Lodestone with the same login as when you access the game. From your character profile screen, click the gear next to Character Profile and add in the confirmation code they sent and save it.
Then back on xivpads click the "Click to Verify" button.
You can remove the confirmation code from your Lodestone profile after it is verified.
