My controller stopped working mid game yet works in other games

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but while playing the game my wireless controller for my PS3 just stopped working. It has been playing just fine then it decided to stop doing the button combination I wanted it to do. I have reset my controller configuration, reset my PS3 multiple times, even tried plugging in my corded controller. The corded controller would work but then my camera settings would be having a mind of their own and I couldn't correct that.
I have checked my wireless controller with other PS3 games I have and the controls and button combinations worked just fine. Tried it again with FFXIV and I can't even get past the main menu. No buttons work at all except the PS button to exit game.

So I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the patch. Because otherwise I have not messed with my control settings and it still works with other games just not this one...

This has happened to me but only when my controller dies. Usually when I plug it back in after it dies on any game itl just come back on and I can still play, but not on FF:ARR. It just has the 4 reds light blink on the top and thats it. I could charge and play before the patch but now idk why its happening now. So it must be the patch.
