This thread is quite pathetic.
If you don't have what it takes you need to deal with it instead of coming over here to cry and whine. Spineless.

lol well I'm not here to complain =P mostly here to make dumb jokes... but now I'm here to tell you that your post is quite pathetic and you sound like a complete jack a** coming here and telling people that they are spineless.
Ah well, sometimes truth hurts.

This whole new generation makes me facepalm. Back in my day we had to walk 15 miles in the snow up hill at night being chased by rabid wolves to even get a decent internet connection so we could spend months and months speculating on hidden drops or how to kill a certain mob or making up weird ass synthing rituals.
Now a week after the update we get complaints that everything isn't handed to us on a silver platter by Yoshi-P himself wearing cat ears and a maid uniform.

I'm "the nintendo generation" and remember what it was like to try to figure out games like Zelda, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy (old school) games without the strategy guide.
But today with the way some people are saying "oh you didn't post your strategy" or "didn't post it immediately after you knew how to do it" makes them sound like they were the type of people to buy the game AND the brady guides to go along with them.
They don't appreciate trying to figure things out on their own and want people to just hand it over to them.
*sigh
We've been having a lot of fun with this dungeon and have our own respect trying to figure it out. I just LOVED the theories thread. So much fun trying all the crazy things everybody including ourselves came up with.
I wish some people would go back to enjoying the game trying to figure it out on their own rather than attacking others for not handing them perfect strategy so they can do it.
my own opinion

Didn't someone put the 5 chest strat in the last pages of the Mog thread. Not sure if there right, but i'd stick around that to see if anyone is posting legit ones. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...utes-remaining.
I posted an idea of how my LS was going to do it somewhere in the 30s page ranges.Didn't someone put the 5 chest strat in the last pages of the Mog thread. It only took us 2 tries so it wasn't too far off from what you actually do... we also got patttens, bladedancers, and bliaut(sp) on the run also.
For Batraal all you really gotta do differently is AE skeletons on top of Batraal... by the time you finish P1 skulls the P2 ones are popping already. We also didn't kill the 3rd wave (we were going to) but mages said they could heal through them beating on people so we just swapped to boss to save some more time.

There comes a point when you should throw in the towel. That point is different for everyone, but if you pass it you will only be upset afterwards.
Seems like a lot of people are putting way too much time and effort into this single chest. If you can't find it within ten runs my advice is to stop looking and wait for someone else to find it. There is no point killing yourself over it. You had fun without the chest, you had some minor fun looking for the chest, and if you don't stop looking for it you will forget all about that fun you had before and only remember sorrow and anger (both at yourself and the game).... thats more of a hunch than anything.
A game like this needs mysteries... that is almost part of an online world. Just think of FFXI... so many things that people believed without facts... and they liked it, even when following the myths didn't help at all, you THOUGHT that it was helping, so it make you happier. Mysteries, myths, rumors... these make a MMORPG go round. Anyone heard of .hack? Same exact thing. That show is what got me interested in MMORPGs. No one in The World knew much of anything, and that is what made it fun. Eventually we will find out, but until someone figures it out (and it will probably happen by chance) you should just relax, believe in the rumors, try random different things for fun and not for experiments. Don't kill yourself. Mysteries like this keep the game, and the community, interesting.

That was exactly the reaction from many to the video SE released with hints on how to beat AV.
People were beside them self with rage that SE didn't literally spell it out for them, step by step, but instead left clues for people to work with and figure out on their own.
Instead of taking the time to try and decipher and put the pieces together, they spent all their time calling the vid a hoax and trying to pick apart all the "flaws" in it.. Basically saying "We don't get it, and we don't want to try to get it. So we're just going to pout and stomp our feet, discredit the video and bash SE instead". Bunch of spoiled brat cry-babies those people were. Seriously.
If there's one thing this turn of events has proven to me it's this...
Some people (not all, by any means) have undeniably become completely spoiled by and entirely reliant on the use of wiki guides to achieve anything in a game. Having everything conveniently spelled out for them has made some folks impatient. The "outcry" over a single treasure chest in a week-old dungeon proves that beyond question.
Perhaps it'd be better if Yoshi didn't drop hints next time. Let people figure it out on their own.

Except, AV was a hoax in itself. The only way to win was to go with an alliance of 18 people with relic weapons, hit all the ebon panels during iceday, at the same exact time as everyone did their relic WS on AV... all after locking his 2hrs and surviving a Meteor in the face with everyone in range. The rest was stuff we already knew!
Anyway, I'm enjoying the mystery behind the 5th chest, because it's keeping us busy.
