What keeps you playing?

There's nothing better out there at the moment. Tried wildstar and ESO and both pretty much sucked, didn't want to go back to RIFT, Wow or swtor, yup so I'm pretty much here. Not to mention some parts of the game are really fun.

The fact that my life is a chaotic mess, I'm clinically depressed, and Eorzea gives me a sense of accomplishment while my real life goals are at the moment unobtainable

but uhhhhh other than that i guess crafting? and waiting for golden saucer!

Has been here since beta but still has tons of stuff to do so im not going to get bored anytime soon.

Mostly because of my FC mates and accomplishing the goal of us owning a large house, also as I look forward to what is coming in the future and prepare for it

im not sure actually :/ like ive been playingntitan ex' lvl 107 beat it 6 months ago. why is titan ex still this hard? i mean sure, after every fight i usually forget 2/3 of the fight but i tried titan 3 times the last 2 days and it was embarrasing. first one heals were dying so second (cause i try and play better than i am since my guys geared) run im covering and ss ing to help now im dying. 3rd run all bad too. on every run we make it far first run, after 3 tries though i cant pay attention, idk y, by fifthor sixth try with a group i go from being only guy not getting hit to the biggest loser. i just feel if it were more like cod, insta queus, it might help lower teir players like me without a good non laggy raid' help us enjoy the game. i mean t7? that shits rough. havent beat t5 in months etc, idc if it gave me a title that said i suck' give me an easy mode so i can play. im old, hitting 3 buttons in under 2 seconds is hard

Of course, game is 1 year old (the better version) and it's "To late" Why do you even log on? Nostalgia is not a good reason, for someone who clearly does not like the game why do you even bother playing, the game will not cater to only what you like, so clearly you need to find something else to play/do. instead of these passive aggressive comments.

On topic: as for what keeps me playing, it's just overall fun. the only real issue is finding competent players that aren't douches in the process.

He's talking about how "great" 1.2x was. And that happened what? 2 years after original release? We're at 1 year, for ARR, now, so it sure as hell isn't "too late" for anything.

Also I'd rather not have 1.x back, thank you very much.

I was thinking about this for the past week. Kinda took a break. Still not sure on my motivation to play now but eh.. personal housing is up there on the list of wanting to at least try it out or stick around for. Pretty much gave up on raids due to no static and with two little ones I can't dedicate certain times to get into one. Plus each group I've tried to at least get the kill count on the content.. has been .. just awful. I thought I had run into terrible players in other mmo's...

I do have a few goals set that I'd like to complete before I fully give up on the game. but as someone else said there isn't really anything else that's kept my attention so might as well play this. I'm in the process of looking for a new FC so I'm hopeful that if I get into a active one that might solve my issue. I get very bored playing a mmo as a solo. Not even sure where all of my FC mates ran off to. >_>

What keeps you playing?

1. Habit.
2. Slight addiction.
3. The idea of getting my moneys worth. (need to stop subbing for 6 months but the discount is nice... but it makes me feel like i need to play....)
4. For fear that they will implement the 35 days off and you lose your FC house.
5. Hope that one day, with some odd patch, i will recover that feeling of 2.0 & 2.1. (FLs came close)
6. Because there is a chance (like last night) that i log in, join a random group, and finally beat something that has been a roadblock (T7).

i read somewhere awhile back that input was appreciated but one thing to try to do is give examples or alternatives rather than just saying, "i don't like this".
so with that said, i would truly love it if new primals would return to DF from the start. once 2.2 hit and this new way of taking those out until the following patch,
i have slowly become more tired and aggravated with this game. i like to do content on my time, not my servers. plus i like the anonymity of the DF for learning and wiping.

The ability to undercut the market to make items more accessible to players that don't have the gil.

The simple fact that atm there's nothing better out there, which isnt saying much good really about the path SE is taking this game.

I log in, do some dailies, and log out.

I used to want to log in, now its just a chore almost to even keep up with dailies. The playerbase can be hostile and frustrating (moreso here than in any MMO I've played in years) which doesnt help.

Gets worse with every patch since launch too. At this rate, I'll be done with the game by years end unless they change the path they're on with things.
