Why don't they change the way we earn Atma? (An honest question, not a rant.)

Nope, keep it that way.

At the end of the route to 3.0 where the final form of the Zodiak weapon is released (and supposed to be the most powerful weapon as said in one of the previous live letters), I'll be glad to be one of the few people who actually owns one.

It is a weapon that you know you can keep and upgrade it, unlike other gears that gets outdated with each and coming patches.

Atma should be changed for one reason alone.

When the quest was new, it wasn't uncommon at all for fates to be zerged and downed in a matter of only a few minutes. Now that the quest has been finish by the vast majority of players, it's not uncommon for one person to be soloing the fates, taking sometimes near the full 15 minutes to win.

New people doing the quest have a overwhelming disadvantage versus those who have finished.

A side note, this action... Or lack of action by SE to not change content such as this leads to other negative behavior (see hunts). "Ignore other content now, because when everyone has moved on from this it will be much harder to farm this stuff."

They should be changed, but who knows if they will.

Took me just over 1200 fates to get all 12 atma, but at least I had 50-100 other people slaughtering the fates as I went. Couldn't imagine doing 1200 fates now as solo or maybe 2-3 people with me. The thought of that is nauseating.

I still don't have much of a problem with atma. My smn (not a big fan of the play style) will run about with his zenith melting fates while I wait for my daily to spawn... If I get a drop, cool... If not, I'm off to do something else soon enough.

I have 1 novus. If i had to switch to another job, or if SE made the current relic necessary for some content, I would rather unsub than go through it again. IMO, anyone who enjoyed the atma-animus-novus line is truly a masochist and should seek therapy for their problems, not someone who should feel accomplished in any way, shape or form.

It was a lazy, conniving design only to ensure new players got to enjoy content due to max level players forcing themselves to eat this shit by the shovel load. Same thing with just about all non-raid content in this game.

You should probably be the first guy needing therapy because after all those strong words put forth in your post and having 1 novus yourself, you are still subscribing to this game and playing it.

I'm playing it due to being in a static, and a few friends I know irl who play. If it weren't for those reasons, I would be gone in a heartbeat. And I have a novus due to the internal nagging I have that if i start something, I need to finish it, mixed with the fact that my static hasn't downed t9 yet and the soldiery weapon for scholar makes me cringe. All that aside, it was painful, and I received no satisfaction whatsoever from finishing it; only the feeling of relief.

My words stand as is, and my only regret for my previous statement was that I was not harsh enough in my criticism of the quest.
