She mean Ragnarok Online 2002-2007To compare Ragnorok Online to FF14, WoW or any hardline MMO as these is a poor argument as read about the game online. RO is F2P....and I promise that these mechanics that plagued those players lead to its downfall as well. If you are truly going to compare a game to this....try Diablo 2 or Diablo 3 which is based clearly on Low RNG.....but Diablo is not WoW or is it SWTOR or FF14 in styles of gameplay. SE dropped the ball on game design and numerous posts for the past 6 months in regards to the subject about people stating the same thing as I am is clear proof and thats all that needs to be said!
0.01% droprate for cards while paying sub.
The Korean RPG Ragnarok Online, which is 10+ years old, was not originally a F2P. It was for a very long time, a P2P MMORPG. The low RNGs did not kill the game. At this time in MMO history, MMOs were having issues with dealing with inflation, especially MMOs that became popular and survived for many years. A newer player was having problems joining Ragnarok Online 2 years later on because items would cost in the near millions as Gil sinks at this time were not well developed and understood extremely well because most MMORPGs at this time did not last many years. Ragnarok Online was able to destroy items efficiently using its +5 to +10 upgrading process but it couldn't destroy zenny effectively to keep inflation down, making it too hard for newer players. Even with the deterring of newer players, Ragnarok Online still exists today and its still very enjoyable with some very fantastic BGM.
The low drop rates at 0.01% and 0.02% rarely deterred us and nor was it the downfall of the game. During this time, it was commonplace for MMOs to have extremely low drop rates and countless people still played MMORPGs during this time.
O.o the only real thing I'd be proud of there was spirit bonding my own materia for Novus. That and maybe perhaps that the RNG God blessed me with superhuman luck to have gotten all 12 atma is such a short amount of time.I felt accomplished every step of the way for my zodiac. The twelve hour atma grind, Brayflox Nonstop for thousands of myth, the fate camping for books, the alex grind, and finally the scream of joy when the last det4 was placed into my scroll, having spirit bonded all my own materia. My novus was complete. Days of in-game time was spent and millions of gil. I am proud of my zodiac
I got all my atma quickly on paladin.
I believe ones who have a low attention span who complain. You don't wanna keep doing fates over and over, you want it now your other options I have read AND here are some ive read.
Dungeons- Dumb idea take hours to win the dungeon and would be much worse imagine same drop rate.
Grand company- to easy and you are doing fates for grand company seals and leves not different if they stuck the atma at 50 GC points.
Treasure hunts - Man I could see treasure maps blowing up in prices after this.
Every way I have seen people asking its like they want hand outs, I found farming atma super easy not sure why its a problem.

Yes because they don't want everyone getting all their relics for each job.
It would best to focus on one weapon, this is why there are other optional weapons to gather and people are just being greedy they want to get all the relics instead of just one.
Except its completely within possibility to do so...
There are players walking around with several Novus weapons and working on more. The difficulty, or rather tedious ad nauseam, of the relics is to, in a manner of speaking, make them seem "epic" and rewarding.
I have gathered 3 sets initially within a relatively fast period of time. I have only completed one weapon and will never touch the others as the reward isn't worth the time imo but that's not the point really.
I was one of the luckier ones and tbh I fully support a change in drop rates. A noticeable change.
I have read many posts regarding some people having unreal bad rng.
To me, that is unacceptable...period. No ifs or buts or rng is rng, that is a cop out by the game, the concept that a person may never get them all or need to put in 400x the amount of time is wrong! Just morally wrong! Enough time has passed, help those still trying.
A hard cap/player needs to be in place to ensure that people don't need to spend unrealistic amounts of time to get the "upgrade" of this weapon.
Other choices ingame are totally irrelevant...if a person chooses to do atma route for whatever reasons, then that route needs to be realistic. Currently it has the potential to be the polar opposite to realistic. rng is never realistic.
A player obtaining all atma in 12 hrs and another needing to grind daily for hours over months on end is "fair" according to rng but it is not "right" , there is a difference and they are lacking that morale sense at present.
I have more respect for ppl/or a company doing the "right" thing.
Before hunts were implemented Atma was the best way to force high lv players to the open world and do low end FATEs. Why? Because there's a steady stream of new players and by doing this it'll make the open world more alive.
Before ATMA there really was no point in being in the open wolrd besides gathering and leveling sub lv. 15 alts
I absolutly hate ATMA farming. I'm a casual 36yo player. The idea of blindly farming something with no idea of how many chances i have for a drop is beyond me. AND you need 12 Atmas.
I think i would have prefered any kind of farming but this.
Atma drops every 100 fates in the zone is a better idea.
Getting your ilvl100 weapon after 1000 atmas in total is a better idea.
Atma drops in a very special fate poping every 8hrs is a better idea.
Anything but blind farming please.
