^ This ten times over, lol
See what happens when people take time and read.
Magical things can happen.
To be honest it seems like you're trying to fit 10 pounds of goods into a 5 pound bag. For you and your raid groups progressiveness (is this a word?) I suggest some one else should take care of SMN if it's truely needed. Depending on the turn you need this for (I'm guessing either T8 or 9) you're going to need every bit of DPS and MP conservation you can muster for extremely tight DPS checks. Splitting your stats like that already hinders both jobs, and now you want to hinder a role in the static even more by running with a subpar weapon.
TL;DR- Ask another raid member to gear SMN, or Levi book and mirror is your "best" option.
Aurelle, if all you're going to dedicate is 15 Intelligence to Summoner on top of your other restriction then I'd recommend you stay on Black Mage and not bother. You can still pull it off and do your part, but consider these things:
1) Your damage will already be severely capped due to equipment and stat allotment decisions.
2) A Summoner casting Resurrection takes a noticeable hit on DPS unless it's swiftcasted, and even on certain instances like Turn 3(8), where your MP is so important, the huge chunk of mana that will be gone with that raise will result in a loss no matter what. Add this to the previous point.
3) Scholar does not need those points in Mind for anything in the game right now. The best example of this is the first clear of Turn4(9) by BlueGarter where their Scholar was using his points on Vitality to endure the dives and AoEs (this was a long time ago but I think he was, or was it Turn 5? Regardless, you don't need those points for it.)
So, with this said, I strongly suggest you re-spec to full Intelligence if you are still considering switching.
Thank you for everyone's input. Me subbing as SMN when needed isn't something that is going to be a groundbreaking part of our groups mechanic, just something that would be good as back up if we deem it necessary or find we need to switch things up. Reason I'm doing this is because I already had Arcanist/SMN to level 50 and all my 110 BLM gear can be put straight over to SMN. Hence why I only really wanted an opinion on a weapon--which again thank you all for.
As for my stat allocation--I will be switching this all to INT. Considering how SCH works I agree with you BloodPact and will handle that when I get home from work today. For weapon, I think I'll go to Levi since it is the easiest to farm right now. I'm not worried about Accuracy since with all the gear I DO have stockpiled I can hit cap easily (or may have to eat some food but nothing too major).
Just be aware, if using acc food to cap, the bonus from the food will not translate over to your pet's acc cap.
