Lower base SP mobs have lower HP tiers and attack tiers. They DO die faster than 150 base SP mobs, and they do less damage to you meaning you might never have to stop.

It's true that lower SP mobs are often weaker, but there are exceptions and a mob with half the base SP of another mob probably isn't only half as powerful.
