I remember logging into 1.0 with the Dalamud countdown clock ticking down as you typed in your details. Made it feel damn real. The servera going dead and the opening ARR movie playing as the farewell to 1.0

A bunch of people just standing outside the main cities, watching the ships flying overhead, system messages going nuts about units that have lost contact, Hydalaen's mournful song filling everyone's ears as we all stood ready to face the end of the world side by side.

....And then the servers abruptly disconnected and everyone got mad as they redirected us to youtube to watch the video of dalamud falling and bahamut breaking out. I mean, I don't really know what we were all expecting, but we were expecting SOMETHING to happen just before the servers went down.

Haha...I also just realised I've had this bandana thing going on since the start of 1.0 seeing my old screenshots again.

Ugh. I remember that. Still, I did get to participate in the battle in Mor Dhona. Makes me feel nice to have been in what the cutscene portrayed.

I do wish I could have witnessed it myself, but like many others, I simply did not have and could not at the time afford a computer good enough to play it on.

I only vaguely remember doing much around the end, so I don't actually recall the music. At the time I was in too much shock over the idea of CoH closing that I was pretty much only on FFXIV because it was something to distract me. I was there for the last day, though I ended up stuck in Limsa, since my attempt at getting to the battle ended with me being killed on the way by something waaaaaaaaaaay stronger than my level 25 self.

I preordered Curtain Call a while back. I hope Answers in that game has no sound effects.

actually, the music currently playing is not a variation of Dalamud Answers. It is the version of Answers that could be heard in the opening sequence of Final Fantasy XIV version 1.0 as seen here:

And yes, for those that are interested, that is the entirety of version 1.0's main scenario cut scenes.

Also, for those of you that were actually worried about being vaporized when Dalamud touched down, I kindly point you in the direction of this video and while watching that video keep in mind that Dalamud is hollow.
