What is with this CONSTANT CRIPPLING LAG!?

This is getting ridiculous now, I left a month after launch due to no content and constant server issues.. I come back a YEAR later.. to no content and constant SERVER ISSUES!?!?

CONSTANT Rubber banding, freezing/speeding up..

20Mb/s Cable Connection, I play literally almost EVERY current MMORPG on the market.. NONE of them lag as god awful as FFXIV.. in fact, none of the others lag at all.

Im on Courel Server, which is SUPPOSED to be a North American Server, and this game constantly makes me feel like Im connecting to a server on the friggen Moon.

After asking around, it is blatantly obvious I am not the only person with the problem either. Has this been recognized and is in the process of being fixed, or should I just cancel and wait another year to try again?


PS - Your "1000 character limit" on forum posts is completely useless. Everyone works around it by cutting/pasting then editing post, so why bother!?

You're not the only one on Coeurl US that has the issue, I get it in the morning like nobody's business. I have a 35 to 50 mb/s connection and still have problems

The cripple lag happens on Lamia server as well. Perfect internet connection and I'll be running either one of the towers and suddenly a pause then massive time jump at the last possible second. It always seems to happen on days Odin FATE is due to spawn. I pretty much just assume its due to all the people logging in to try their shot at that FATE and just deal with it by crafting that day or just not log in altogether.

You picked a hell of a time to come back. have the free week log in, so that means a bunch of people who don't even pay playing and clogging up all the servers. And on top of that, PSN is under attack causing everyone on the PS3 and PS4 to get constantly disconnected. Don't go around blaming the game when it's the people playing that are causing the issues.

I'm playing on a PC with a 40mb/s connection, so its not just console players getting punted for no good reason. Sony getting DDOS'ed shouldn't affect the PC side of the game so that's not a completely valid point if he's playing a PC. They pushed through an update to try and alleviate some of the problems and going to go down for maintenance again on Friday morning. Hopefully it clears up some of the issues.

Plus the people being bounced off the PSN side of things should be alleviating quite a bit of the lag for PC players and it isn't.
