Back in FFXI it took me a long time before I finally reached all three nations and with only chocobos, airships and the teleport spells available at the time the world felt uge even if I only saw a small fracture of all the areas that existed back then. In FFXIV it took me two days to see all of the three nations.

I see the teleportation system in FFXIV as a possibility for casual players to get around faster in order to get some stuff done within a small timeframe. For them the anima available should be sufficient. All other players who have the chance to play more will soon have the option to travel on birds and by air. Therefore, I would rather see more restrictions on the teleportation system instead of making it more available. But that is just my opinion.
Agreed, even as a casual, i prefer restrictions on Anima system, infact i prefer it removed all together and have other means of transportation in it's place because it's literally killing the fun and adventure in the game. As you said, only takes 2 days to see whole of Eorzea due to the nature of Easy access for all Anima system since the start, and being able to tele from anywhere at anytime Makes no sense and kills the thrill.
Where is that sense of adventure of goin through the lands, either running or through chocobos or airships, discovering new places with excitement and feel you have much more to discover still. Sense of accomplishment and adventure, dead here in FFXIV and i blame both Anima and design of world.

It's good to know they have plans for re-designing the world, and that should hopefully move things in right direction, but Anima may still be an issue until it's addressed. Hopefully with the redesign, there wont be a crucial need for anima as is the case now, then people can let go of it and we can hope for a better adventure without transportation frustrations.
