    Dual Specializations

Basic Idea: have a system that allows you to chose between two different attribute allocations. The most basic example would be for arcanist to allow them full INT or MND builds so that a player can both dps or heal without compromising their stats. Other uses would be to full STR for tanks when they go to Frontlines so they aren't wasting the VIT stat in PvP since there's no really way to "aggro" enemies as you can in PvE.

This isn't a vital necessity nor would it be that diverse at this point in the game's development since tanks and arcanist would be the only ones to really benefit at this point. I think it would still be nice to have and it just makes sense for classes like arcanist if they ever decide to do something similar in the future.

doesn't Sch have Cleric stance as a cross class? which switches INT and MND right? I swear my SCH does.

It only seems odd right now because we only have 1 class with 2 jobs. At some point down the line, we will start seeing 2-3 jobs branching off every class. At that point, job-specialization will play a key role in the game.

Yes, but it after switching the stats it buffs attack magic and gimps healing magic. So someone who starts w/ SMN (presumably w/ max INT) can't use Cleric to max their MND because their healing will be cut. Someone who starts with SCH (w/ max MND) and moves to SMN would be able to take advantage of Cleric, but SMNs can't cross-class Cleric Stance.

Plus, switching the stats doesn't help when all of the gear your character wears goes into the stat you would need to switch out. There really need to be separate job stat point distributions for SCH/SMN.

Not sure where the quote is, but I've heard multiple times on the forums that Yoshi doesn't want to do any more split classes because he wasn't satisfied with how SCH/SMN turned out.
