    Delay on certain skills?

    Has anyone else noticed any delays when using skills like, Sacred Soil, Miasma II, Lustrate, Shadowflare, and things like any mount or mini pet? I've tried on 3 different computers and 2 different internet connections and every time I try to use these specific things there just seems to be some kind of delay where I have to activate them multiple times to get it going... :<

    The delay you're seeing is the animation. The actual effect of the skill, whether it be damage, buff, debuff, or heal, is always applied AFTER the animation completes. If we use Sacred Soil as an example, the damage reduction buff is applied to the players after the "dome" is finished building itself.

    There' sno delay w/ the animatin. The skills aren't even being used when I press the assigned button.

    there is a one second delay with sacred soil which is pretty bad seeing that it is the oh shit button for Paladin, i cannot say anything about the other skills

    Yeah its really annoying, but that's how this game works. I think they made it slow paced so that everyone can play it and do all the content.
    My sister actually quit cause of that delay though and ive tried to get some friends to join but they all had the same issue with the slow paced combat.

    I can't count on my fingers how many times a tank has died cause benediction didn't happen but the animation happened. Or as a blm trying to use mana ward to avoid an aoe.
    Those spells seem rather silly when we need to wait 1 second to use them.

    That irks me like no other, and i am pretty lenient with how some things are off in this game, but i detest using benediction on someone and they STILL die, i'v lost my CD in complete vain. Not as "instant" as it has you to believe.

    I think you mean hollowed ground, since sacred soil is for scholar.

    yes I noticed it with lustrate, and hollowed ground, especially in frontlines, very annoying when I die because of it

    What makes it even worse is that even if the effect Fails because of this delay the cd starts...

    Are you using the skills straight out of the spell book, or through macros? If you're using macros, they can't/won't queue up early the way regular abilities from the spellbook will. (You can activate an ability about half a second early, and it will fire as soon as it's available; not so with macros.) So there's always going to be <your latency + your button spamming speed> delay between an ability in a macro becoming available and the macro actually firing.

    I get a really bad delay with Circle of Scorn. Often I'll use it, the animation will trigger but the ability won't work and go onto cd, meaning I need to use it again. Personally I think defensive cooldowns should be completely instant - keep an animation, but the effect needs to happen instantly and not require me hammer the hotkey.
