I have yet to do them as I have a hard time seeing them for the full fight.
- So how does it work in hunt parties?
 - Do you stay in one zone or teleport around?
 - What are the seals per hour?
 - Add anything else I may not have covered.

Thanks for the help.![]()

In actual active hunt parties, usually at minimum 1 person will keep track of the hunt windows by whatever means they use. I use thehunt.tk, as well as most people. With an actively used session you will know what windows are available.
Also, this thread helps quite a bit with the overall understanding of hunts: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...umed-mechanics
The person or persons keeping track of that basically let the rest of the party know what zone's have windows open, and the party members go to those zones and roam around searching for the NM until one is found. Then you pretty much tell your party and you gather. If you have hunt LS then you share the info with them and whatever other friends you want to share the info with.
Depending on your server, and perhaps even time of day, people may be patient enough to wait a few minutes for others to gather at the location. However, this kindness is very seldom across most servers. If people are just zerging, as soon as a NM is located you can bet it's going to be pulled within a minute or less so you really have to hurry to reach it.
Say you are running late on getting to the mob, it's already been pulled but you're not at it yet. If most of your party has been there attacking it from the start, and you are able to at least land 1 hit/attack on it, you will still gain credit. I can't really comment on the healer aspect of Hunts because I've never gone as a healer, so maybe if you heal someone in your party before it dies you might get credit too.
A rank mobs give 20 Allied Seals at full credit and 80 Mythology Tomes.
S rank mobs give 50 Allied Seals at full credit and 200 Myth Tomes.
Seals per hour are wholly dependent on how many windows are open and how soon the NMs pop, as well as if you are able to reach the mob before they are destroyed and receive any credit. It's kind of an constantly changing variable.
There are 17 zones, so there are 17 A and S rank hunt mobs. If they were to all have windows open within the same hour and actually spawn within the same hour (plus you kill/receive full credit on all of them) that would give you 340 seals (this is just A rank mobs) in an hour, max. But then you'd be waiting roughly 3 or more hours before the next windows opened.

Also, not to mention, the Daily hunt targets are actually worth doing now, imo. You can get ...uh, well, I think it's either 32 or 34 Allied Seals a day from completing all the targets.
The Weekly hunts I think give 50 Allied Seals as well, but... well, it's just once a week, but they are solo-able.

Just to tack on a question of my own to this:
Is the Hunter-scholar even remotely accurate with the possible location he/she mentions? For example, Gatling is apparently from the lichyard near Drybone, according to the Hunter-scholar. So would looking there be a good place to start or could he be ANYWHERE in Eastern Thanalan?

Not exactly, there are no set locations for Hunt monsters to spawn, they spawn pretty much anywhere on the map, outside of NPC camps.

				From what I know
So how does it work in hunt parties?
> Something like Odin FATE, the more people you partied with to deal as much damage the better chance for you to get gold. For hunt's case, you get the maximum reward depending on which mark you defeated (A or S).
Do you stay in one zone or teleport around?
Some do either while others both, everyone split up to various areas to look for them and then announce the location once they have discovered the whereabouts, then everyone will proceed to teleport to the location specified.
What are the seals per hour?
Depends on the timing, if you're lucky enough to have several of them spawned within that hour then you get more per hour. Someone in my FC said they managed to get 200+ within an hour.
