    Old School Learning New Lore

    Hi all,
I barely came back 5 days ago, and everything seems to have changed for the better (i hope). Now i can't for the life of me seem to recall the previous knowledge and understanding i have of my crafts. Back in 1.23v, ALC and other class is bound to stats such as DEX and STR, but now all seems to be based on CP / Craftsman and Control instead. Not that i am lamenting and complaining, but i wish to know more on the important things about crafting. So i wish to enlist the help of the community on the following questions :
    1) Is CP / Craftsman or Control the way to go for better crafting?
    2) Max level should be 50 to my knowledge but i seen others mentioning level 60 to 80 - What does the level means? iTemLevel? or actual level?
    3) Stats such as STR and DEX no longer have any purpose to the class?
    4) AF quest reward the best item for end game crafters?
Pardon me for my lack of understanding and any help / feedback is much appreciated.

    1. I heard that CP is the master stat, but you also need crafts and control to be at a certain level from melding to meet stat requirements for 2* and 3* crafts.
    2. Max level is 50, they're usually referring to item level after that.
    3. No purpose unless you want to beat on some dodos with a frying pan.
    4. The artisan tool obtained from turning in HQ 2* recipes are better than the AF from the level 50 quest.

There are other rewards past AF. Master recipes, Artisan's Spectacles.

The big expensive part is melding your AF. Check the link below. There are newer accessories, iL55, that may not be in that post.

The new ones are actually in there, along with the previous BIS (which is significantly less pricey but almost as good).

    Welcome back ...

First of all, DROP ALL of your 1.2x knowledge, this is a very different game ... now, what that said ...

    - Craftsmam: your ability to progress ie: out of 100 difficulty, one w low craftsman will have less progress per turn then someone with high craftsman.
    - Contol: your ability to produce better quality
    - CP - Think of it as the TP/MP for crafters, (GP = DoL). It is THE most important stat, as TP is with your DoW and MP for your DoM. W/o CP, you will not be able to do much HQ crafting.

Crafting in 2.x is purely rotation based. If you have the stats, you will be able to come up with better rotations. Unlike 1.2 where HQ is highly RNG driven, 2.x it is only RNG driven if you do not have the skills (not all DoH at 50), or you are trying to craft some high level items (3 star).

Level and iLevel (item level). Back in 1.x, we had level 50 and that was it. Here, we have level 50, but the items themseleves have iLvls defined. So for an example your basic weapon is iL50, your L50 reward weapon is iL55, your relic weapon is iL80, and relic+1 = iL90, etc.

Crafter AF (iL55): You can HQ craft those, and you will get the MH tool as quest reward. Those better MH and the iL70 head gear, you will need to go down the "master craft" paths to obtain. But in order to travel down the Master craft path, you must meld your gears (HQ AF); no ifs or buts about that.
