Players these days, can't tell the difference between working for something and getting it baby-fed to them because MMO makers can't seem to create a challenging game anymore...
Well, if it was "do this specific Fate and you'll get your atma stone", I guess it'd be sort of the same. If you needed a couple of hundreds of atma stones to do anything with them, at least. But with Atma hunting, it doesn't matter WHICH Fate you do: it just needs to be in the right region/map. So you're not just waiting around, even if doing low-level Fates can be mind-numbingly boring at times. And if you get tired of it you can take a break from it and continue another day, since the Atma quest doesn't have a reset time.

For these daily hunt marks, you know precisely which Fate you need to do to get your 10 seals and you know where that Fate spawns. And at least half of the time you either won't get anything worthwhile from doing other Fates in the area (wrong area, don't have zenith yet, already got your atma weapon, already have atma stone for that area, don't have any other classes to level up anymore....you name it) so all you do is sit there in one spot and wait. Sure, you can go do other things, but then you risk that the Fate spawns while you're away, and you'll have to wait for just as long when you return. And you have to do your two Fates before 3pm GMT the next day or you won't be able to pick up the next daily hunts without discarding the current ones.

That's not working. That's not difficult -- other than the struggle to hold on to your patience and/or avoid falling asleep in your chair.

At least with the B marks (now that the zerg rush on those is over) there is a certain element of hunting to it, since you need to find where it's spawned.
