A real pet class like Beastmaster, where you don't fight much yourself but control your pet instead.
Not like the auto mode Summoner pets.
Samurai.
A gun or crossbow class.
Blue Mage would be cool too.

Love these type of threads. Can be silly and fun.

jobs: Chemist for heals, and either puppetmaster or corsair for DD
Class: Champion: Great sword DD and long cool down attacks

Class: Vagrant: Large Katana for tanking
Jobs Samurai for tank, and Onimaru ( demon themed DD job that fights with an extra haunted katana)

Jobs Blue mage to learn extra enemy skills, and dancer for either enfeebling and attacking (like classic dancer) or heals like FFXI

Just thought of a new one,
Class butcher
Weapon cleaver
Player
I would love to see a melee healer like dancer from Final Fantasy XI; however, I am uncertain if that type of healing style would work in endgame because of the dangerous enemies we have to face such as primals. And some bosses have mechanics that target the healer so it could endanger the party even more.
Advantages
-Fun Healing Style for those that like to deal damage.
-Obviously higher defense to survive the damage they'll receive in the frontlines.
-Might be better for light parties
Disadvantages
-Potentially receives more damage
-Uses a different resource
-Bad for situations where the party has to split up (Example: Garuda Extreme Phase 5)

Some sort of physical ranged or melee pet class. Like Beast master or Ranger. Could just play off of Archer.
Musketeer, Red Mage, Time Mage, Samurai, Dancer,
but above all, we need whatever that comes in 3.0 first, to be a tank that people will want to play...
I can live a couple extra months of not having more dps if it gives us another tank first.
I want this gun class!

Sick and tired of being able to group them into a role? That's how SE intended it and that's how it should stay. This isn't FFXI where you can pull all kinds of ridiculous crap because the players don't want to play classes like they were intended (Ninja tank? ludicrous).GOOD! Bout bloody time there was some kind of diversity in this game! Frankly I'm sick and tired of being able to look at every single class and be able to group them into one role.
Skeptical? The game already does it! I mean for peats sake, take away the "heat generation" attribute from the WAR and PLD and what do you get? A DPS class. Take away the healing spells what do you get? A DPS class. There is NOTHING that sets one class from another. You can literally play every single DPS all and see no difference outside of the flashy weaponskill graphics they get. I'm not even close to joking.
1. Healers healHealing, Hate Generation, damage
I can mix and match these single 3 attributes between all the classes and they could all perform them EXACTLY the same way PERFECTLY with little to no difference in how they execute their skills.
Take a good hard look at every single combat class in this game and point out more than 3 differences between the healer, tank, and DPS. Go ahead, try it. I'm sure you'll struggle for about 5 mins before giving up and calling me some raging troll followed by "If you don't like the game that much, there's the door" remark.(If you don't, then you have my respect and I apologize for the potshot.)
2. Tanks have emnity skills
3. DPS don't do either of above (not efficiently)
Sure my job idea most likely have tons of balancing holes in it but it's a right side more creative than what we've seen so far. To be frank, I'm not getting my hopes up for anything new aside from flashy weaponskill graphics from the Ninja and other job to be introduced soon.
Would it kill SE to make a unique class for peats sake? :/
Your job idea is imbalanced from job skill at level 30. As I said, Archer already has the benefit of never having to stop moving to do damage which is why their standing DPS is lower than all other classes. Then you added 5 skills that do damage or increase their damage which makes them significantly more desirable than any of the other classes.
Ranger isn't unique, it's just Archer with DPS skills instead of songs.
would like to see:
musketeer
blue mage
and any other ranged (hopefully physical) dps
and maybe a tank that is quite literally a tank - perhaps even getting to use the magitek armor in battle XD guess could be a future job from musketeer
also bonecrafting or fossilcrafting for new DoH
.
DoW:
*Musketeer (class)/Corsair (job).
*Ranger (use either Archer or Musketeer as the class)
*Bushido (class)/Samurai (job)
DoM:
*Mime (class)/Blue Mage (job)
*Fencer (class)/Red Mage (job)
*Geomancer (from Thaumaturge)
