One Year - Thank You for this game!

Perhaps not so much in your own timezones, but over here it's now the first anniversary of ARR's release. The game's had it's ups and downs, has it's glories and it's flaws, but overall I've had good experiences with it and I don't consider time spent in Eorzea to be time wasted. It just has that "Final Fantasy magic" that makes things good.

So, thank you SE for giving me so much fun this year! I hope the next is even better!

And you guys? Has the first year in Eorzea been a fun one? Or has it ruined the franchise forever and you demand your subscription back? (Just try not to be too scathing; this is meant to be a positive thread)

^ This. Although for me it was more three years, seeing as I had account and PC issues that prevented me from finalizing my account sign-up at 1.0's launch, I eventually started in 1.0 in early 2011, about the time that Yoshi took over.

But anyway, I'm so proud to have been a part of this game's wild and turbulent journey from the disaster of biblical proportions that was 1.0's launch, through 1.0's shaky life to it's eventual shutdown, being a part of the ARR Alpha and Beta tests, and into ARR's launch as a Legacy member, ARR has just blown me away and has well and truly hooked me.

Thank you Yoshi and the rest of the team - may FFXIV ARR continue to make gaming history and have many more milestones and anniversaries!

For years after quitting FFXI I tried to find other things to enjoy doing with my free time. Some of that has been good and I have made progress with some important things but when I started playing FFXIV last fall I was like wow, this is what I really love to do. I was back in my element. It's nice to have something to look forward to when I'm at work and my weekends are a lot of fun.

It is a constant challenge to avoid becoming too obsessed with the game but overall my life is better thanks to SE and FFXIV.

It's gonna be my first full year. I remember some nights I stayed up for hours leveling ACN so I could become a WHM.
