This thread is a resource for finding an LGBT community group for those who desire it. Hopefully it will prove to be helpful to anyone looking for such groups, especially those who may not yet feel comfortable enough voicing their desire for such a group in a public forum.

I ask people to respect the purpose of this thread and leave the debate out of it, please. If you don't like the topic, feel free to add me to your ignore list and move on. If you love the topic, please don't respond to the trolls since it only serves to get the thread locked.

Please do not post to this thread unless you are adding or updating FC/LS group information. This is not the place to request to join one of these groups.

The simple fact that these groups want to remain listed here indicates that they are LGBT Friendly. You can make your own decisions on how inclusive they are and if they are a good fit for you based on their websites or talking to representatives in game.

Additions
IMPORTANT:

All entries must include links to the Lodestone pages for your FC, LS. This is so that people can verify that your group still exists and find members to talk to in the game to request invites.

All entries must also include a website. This is so that people have a way of finding out more about your group and whether they are interested in joining, and another way to communicate with your group. There are plenty of free game-guild hosting sites available - they may not be pretty but it's something.

If you want to add your linkshell or free company, or need to correct something on your listing, please let me know. Updating this list is a PAIN - in order to have your group listed please provide the information in the following format:

Status Updates
Updating this list is a pain - both trying to figure out if a group is active, as well as the actual editing of the posting. If you have a better idea of how to manage this process let me know.

I still actively maintain the list, but will no longer be reviewing each of the entries to verify that the groups still exist and are still LGBT friendly. If you have a character on a server and can confirm personally that a particular group is active please let me know.

If you are attempting to contact a group and they appear defunct, please let me know as well so I can confirm and remove their entry.

Also, I'm debating the breakdown between "LGBT", "Friendly" and "No Discrimination". All of the LGBT groups say they welcome non-LGBT Allies - so what is the difference between an LGBT group vs. an LGBT Friendly group? Does that breakdown make any sense?

Indeed, we are at least 20% LGBT. Please place us back in tier two.

I think some level of distinction is useful as people may be looking for different things - being accepted vs supported vs included. But in the end its about how you mesh with the rest of the FC anyway and categorization only gets you so far.
I'd probably organize by server (since that's how people are searching anyway) and then add a note like "Active LGBTA members/Friendly" vs "Non-discrimination/harassment Policy". The quotes from each one definitely help get a feeling for them though.

Edit: Based on Nanashi's response, I think getting rid of the "tiers" would definitely be a good idea. It shouldn't look like a ranking system.

The specific reason I moved Hexen was because I couldn't find anything publicly available on their website about LGBT. This is a long list and I didn't look extensively - so it may be there and I just didn't see it. The 'original' creator of this list only included groups that had websites and based their 'tier' on what the group has publically stated on their own sites.

I'm inclined to agree with Sagittarian that we should merge the 'tiers' but still keep some indication of whether the guild is "LGBT Owned", "LGBT Friendly" or "basic non-discrimination" - and personally I think the best 'proof' of that is the guilds own website. If they aren't willing to publically state that their level of "friendliness" then maybe they aren't so friendly.

Then again, for the most part anyone who made the list at all has to be Friendly since they at some point made an effort to recruit and include from the community..

I've merged the lists into a single tier grouped by server. I haven't fixed all the sorting yet, so don't stress if things appear out of order. I also haven't finsihed going through all of the original listed groups - I've left the ones I haven't checked at the bottom of the list.

I'm going to try to add information about whether the group is a Linkshell, Free Company or both. I may be removing the blurbs about 'LGBT Inclusiveness' and replacing them with "Blurbs about the Company" - in many cases they are the same blurbs.

If you would like to have an entry edited, please feel free to let me know - however anything you want me to include about the FC or LS entry here must also be publically visible and confirmable on the groups website, Loadstone site, or Forum Posting here.

The specific reason I moved Hexen was because I couldn't find anything publicly available on their website about LGBT.

All it takes is clicking the link on our main page that has "About Hexen" which states our charter...half of which is about our strict non-discrimination policy and starts the second paragraph off by saying we are LGBT run. It then goes on to link all of our chapter and guild rules (we are a multi-game, multi-platform guild), all of which that start with number one being our anti-discrimination policy. Methinks you didn't even visit our webpage at all? Perhaps you are confusing us with another FC? We are extremely up front with our leadership being LGBT and our affiliations in the community. It is all publicly available.

Also, I can verify Frostheart Frontier is no longer active on Leviathan, and has not been since September of last year. I was in their LS and my FC absorbed some of their members when they transferred servers shortly after launch. I am unsure if they are active on their new server. I can get one of their old officers to post here to double verify, if you'd like.
