The markets have been really slow, it seems as though there's only a handful of crafter's left.
Im see houses and FC's for sale everyday, people are leaving.
What the hell happened to Goblin?

The Alexander raid has a few goblins tusslin it out.
A few die, few live. Its so/so
Goblin has never been a crowded server, it's a low-mid population server, but it has got some more ppl lately.
I see 10+ Party Finders up at prime time hours lately.
This was NOT the case some months ago before the expansion.
It was not unusual to have only 1 or 2 FATE grinding parties in PF back then.
Market board has always been kinda slow. Besides, right now there are very few reasons to craft in this game (at any server) anyway...
People selling houses exist in all servers and my guess is that most are afraid to lose their houses when the auto-relinquish feature comes with patch 3.1 because they will be away from the game for whatever reason.
Mostly, as aerolol said, Goblin has always been a small town kind of community. It was surprisingly active around when Heavensward dropped, but we've returned to that pre-patch lull, which feels pretty normal to me. If anything, a few raiding groups have moved to more active servers, but the core population is still running around.

Goblin was dead as a door nail for a very long time. I was surprised to see as many people as I did before transferring out when HW released. Just to illustrate my point, I recognize two players just in this thread alone. The population just isn't big enough to sustain long play lifespans.
Hopefully it picks up again for you guys, though. I'm sure you'll see a spike of activity with 3.1, although it may not be quite as big as normal due to Fallout 4 releasing the same day...
WinterMaintenance is coming
Some of my FC mates (hey Rio!!) and I were having this very conversation a couple days ago. Goblin has always been pretty low-pop and it's usually pretty quiet during patch lulls, but you can't deny the large number of people who have all transferred at once within a short period of time these past couple weeks. My guess is this will only continue though I don't know to what degree.
In my case, it would take my whole FC wanting to leave before it became a real option. I don't plan to leave as we're pretty well established here since launch with our FC house, airships, and friends throughout the server. That said, I can see why many have transferred and can't really blame them, even though it hurts our server in the long run.
I'd love to somehow bring this to the dev's attention, as I wonder if it's even on their radar? Goblin can't be the only server that is steadily leaking players to invariably the same places (i.e. Gilgamesh). My only hope is that SE can think of some way of remedying this problem...though it'll probably just be band-aid server merges in the very distant future when the damage has already been done.
If a dev is reading this, please let me know if this is something you're aware of!

This is the most lively Sunday I've seen in a while, lol.
It matters not whether you leave or stay, you will still know my love.

Difficult to find a lady friend on Goblin, but according to xivsoul.com, if it's accurate, the Goblin population is among the highest.
