I do not know hard this would be from a development standpoint, but along with adding new/sub categories to the market board would it be possible to be able pick how much of an item I want to buy from stacks (2-99) of materials? I know FFXI had this feature and its very frustrating when you only need a small amount of something, yet people are selling stacks of 99 :P

That would be an amazing feature for buyers and sellers alike!

Right! If any devs are still listening can you give us some feedback on how hard this would be to implement?

    Thank You!

    This was discussed here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...the-marketward.

You're asking to kill the whole-sale/retail-sale method.. and promoting RMT/BOT system, they will overflow the markets and ALL of us will end up buying most mats from them for 1 gil (cheap yes, fun no, game ruined).

How will this promote RMT? RMT will be there regardless if I "have" to buy the stack of 99 or if I can simply choose to buy 10 from that stack. In my opinion it would help alleviate flooding, because I no longer have to put 15 stacks of 5-10. I can put 2 stacks of 99 and people may buy what they wish.

Not saying your wrong, Just trying to understand your thoughts on it.

If we cite potential RMT abuse for the reason every time we can't have nice things, then we wouldn't have much of a game, would we? I mean heck, might as well remove the mail system, market boards, and ability to gather our own materials too.

All I know is this. When sellers have a full stack of items, they want to sell it all at the standard market price for 1 item x 99. But they can't because, a lot of the time, it is greatly discouraged as there are many items that buyers only need a small handful of, like raw gems (i.e. Ruby, Sapphire, Rubellite, etc.).

I know that, as a buyer, I personally would LOVE to only buy what I need from a stack of 99 HQ Fire Rocks.
