I am talking about on a point by point basis. If the situation ever arose where BLM gear had a better distribution of DET, you would all be (or should be) jumping on it.

Also while EMX was not too keen on giving his spreadsheets out, I did trust his work. If you ever browsed around in the 2.0 times, the amount of math that EMX and Powercow laid out was absurd.

The problem with EMX was he did a lot of dragoon testing, and then just switched the stats out for the other classes, which is stupid. His datasets were poor and he would accuse people of being racist if they questioned him. I can't say I miss him since he moved to other games, probably suits him.

Part of that I can agree with, but because I actually knew him in game, I can say that he did switch it up a bit in the end before he switch over games. Now not saying EMX spreadsheets are the almighty answer to stat weights, just saying he put in a decent amount of work into it.

There is a huge problem with that. I don't do these calcs, they would consume me too much time that I am not willing to invest. But I do invest time to see investing on which stat seems to increase my DPS. I value these spreadsheets and I look at Puro's spreadsheet because I am a main BLM. His numbers are there, I,ve tested them and so far, testing them myself, I have to give him right. EMX spreadsheet? None existant, I can't see anything. It just says that Det is the best stat which is not. If you invest that much time to calc stats weights, you need to post to defend your point.

There are reasons DET isn't best and SS is, job's DPS rely on certain things that set it aside from other DPS jobs. The reason SS is best for BLM is because the faster you get your fire Is out the faster youre going to get your free fire III proc (firestarter i believe it is called). Same theing goes for BRD, the more often your DoT ticks hit a crit the more often you're going to get a free bloodletter proc. For SMN and SCH the more often your pet crits the more often you get a 20% boost in SS. So there are little gimmicks to each job that pushes one of these attributes above DET. DET is generally the best secondary stat for an overall sustained damage/healing increase.

It doesn't work like that with bard. Skillspeed or spellspeed have no affect on how often a DoT ticks. Nor does it have any affect on your pet either.
