Race Change / Character Re-customization?

I agree it would be a good point to implement customization and in particular if this is done in game (barber, tattooist...). It’s fine for me to pay in gils for such services.
Concerning the change in race/sex, by the twelve it will be a pity. I imagine “Hello friend Lalafell… oh Nophica please protect me what a f*** curse! You, you were changed in an Elezen !”. No sorry I can imagine that…
For the name I don’t be sure it will be a good idea to generalize this. Hopefully there are few “out of roleplay” names in this game.

I think its been stated that when they implement the god and birth date attributes that they will be allowing people a 1 time change to your allegiances and birth date, if that was true, I think SE might be so kind to let us change or update characters if they implement new ones.

Though, if they make it so you can just pay to change. It might take away from the roleplaying aspect if every week your friend comes up to you and has changed race/gender lol, OMG you had a sex change! omg how did they fit a galka into a taru!

No doubt. Back in very early interviews they even said they would've been adding more character features/hairstyles with the patches. I'm sure that's all gone out of the window since then.

no kidding there. The game has a lot of 'getting fixed' before this becomes an issue. But eventually, I think it may be a nice addition.

I remember hearing about a barber shop, I hope they implement it. I also hope that miqo'tes get the option to change their stripes:

Character Redesign
Allow us to redesign our character please, for a fee if necessary. Other MMO's do it and I think it would be a good long term investment so people are not bored of their characters after a time. Yes you have mentioned the barbershop, perhaps we can get more than our hair cut, perhaps we can get a tan or lighten our skin color and change our eye color?

For Miqo'tes
Change our kitty stripes, or allow for a variety of kitty skin patterns, a faint leopard, stripes, fun stuff like that. Also please give us the option to make some of our characteristics and stripes a wider variety of colors.
