Race Change / Character Re-customization?

People have been begging WoW for more character options for years. They've never made it happen. They did hair swaps and opened a barbershop, but they've never made a single 'new' hairstyle, or even revved up the skin textures for the original graphics. The idea of Square modeling new stuff like that is just terribly and tragically unlikely.

But yes, I'm pretty sure those of us who are passionate about our character's 'look' would gladly pay for anything they wanted to provide.

This is not true, The implemented 1. (1) new hair style per race option in the barbershop. I believe though it was mostly the same hair style just shared between everyone... And I believe it was just a remix of the Pigtails.

Should've put more thought into it honestly. I think hair style or feature changes would be ok but changing race or gender is a bit stupid because we'd have everyone constantly switching around all the time.



Agreed, but fixed. This isn't 11 guys please use the actual race names :P

I even have to apologize for it. But Give some people some slack. There's many like me who played 11 for years. It's not only hard to make the change, but the new races are a little hard to remember how to spell 'correctly'. I've had to go to races and look them up every time I type them, and it's just annoying sometimes. 'Most' people I think know what people mean by Mithra (just a probable guess).

It would be, but unfortunately, this is probably about the lowest priority item in the entire agenda right now.

no kidding there. The game has a lot of 'getting fixed' before this becomes an issue. But eventually, I think it may be a nice addition.

i would be happy to just be a tad bit short, Playing a elezen, and set on tall, i now feel really big in comparison to others, i wouldnt mind having the abilty to change height

I agree to small changes, like hair color/type, maybe eye/mouth shape and eye color, as well as those extra things like face markings and such. But think race/gender would be a bit much, at lest I wouldn't use it.

But this is all for a year or more away really, much bigger things need to be added still.

to add in this thread, I d like to have new hair style also, special long hair style (longer the those avaiable atm) so ppl can change race and for me, I d like to change new hair

I am absolutely for this as long as measures are put into the game to make it impractical or impossible to change all the time. For instance only one character re-customization every 3, 6 months or a year even, all though if they limit it to that they need to allow you to try gear on and play around for a bit before final decision, maybe in an instanced zone with a lot of lighting types. Also make it cost real money, or crazy amounts of in game money as this will encourage less switching.

I always have a little character remorse after I play one for awhile wondering if ,hmm maybe I would have enjoyed lalafell or elezen better, and after 3-4 years with the same character it just gets old. SE please add this some day.

Personally I think a "Salon" type place would be nice, like many others I played FFXI for a long time and after a while I did want to change my characters Hair style if nothing else. Right now I like my Miqo just the way she is but who is to say somewhere down the line I wouldn't want to add a scar or change her hair?

So if they do add a Salon I think the basics should include
1.Hair
2.Eye color(contacts come on)
3.Facial traits(like scars and such)
4.Magically changed height

As far as gender goes or a whole new race I would think if they did include a new race they might just let you change your character all together course that has to include your name because who is going to sincerely want to change their Male Roegadyn to a female one with a name like say Joe Smashrocks just doesn't sound right lol but then again there are some weird names out there.
