Understand before you auto-reply with hate spam, why I am writing this. Not suggesting.. Just Inquiring to the public opinion.
I played xi from 2003-2009. Yes it is my favorite, but that's not the main point here. Aion was where I first encountered 'recustomization / race / gender change' - for a price.
Now I totally agree with the element that it needs to cost something in real life to make these changes, or a completely rediculous amount of in game cash to make the option available, but hard to attain. For the mmo that wants this kind of content, I am not so opposed.
With xi, I'll admit that after about 3-4 years on my main character, I was conflicted. I had grown with my character, and I in a lot of ways did not want to change her. But by that time I realized there were other models that I actually preferred to my own.
xi always countered my need to be an 'altaholic', because if I wanted to play a different job/class, it was always as easy as go to your house / 'now' change your weapon, and wham bam done. I love being able to multiclass, and play in a variety of ways without having to redo quests, missions, etc.
My purpose for bringing this up has a couple important points.
If they do implement races such as Female and Male to the 'now' Galka and Mithra races, those of us who desired them as options earlier have to either start entirely over to be able to play as this race as is.
For those that just want the aesthetic change after a while, I can understand wanting to alter something about their character.
I am not sure if this was something that was just out of xi's time frame to implement, or if it is something that SE just never cared to involve into FF, but with it being almost a standard among most 'next-gen' mmo's, I wonder if people in xiv care to have such a feature, or if it's generally unwanted among the ffxi settlers.
