Throwing us a free day would certainly be a nice gesture. I'm not sure why so many people jump down the OP's throat for suggesting it.

I'm... pretty tired trying to tell you its not about the free time. Its about them noticing all the maints they had. Last time I'm telling you. You yourself admit that you enjoy reading forums just to see people "complaining" so its not out of the ordinary to see you commenting on threads you see as such just to rile people up. With that said, I'm just gonna ignore you now. Either you can't get the point of it all, or you just don't want to. Either way it doesn't matter. You can have fun finding another thread to troll. Or keep wasting your time here. Whatever floats your boat I guess.
Thank you. I really don't get why its such a frowned upon "suggestion". Not like its demanded or expected.. but just a possible answer to consider to all these frequent maints.
Or they could just do a better job with the maintenances they do have so that we don't have so much out of the blue and unneccessary down time. 3-4 times in the span of a week at 4-8 hours each instance is a bit much for issues they should have fixed the first time.
Whats a day of subscription worth, like $0.40? Does it really matter?
I'm sure SE notices the maintenance they are doing, considering they are the ones doing it. But what you're saying the point of this inane thread is telling SE that their maintenance affects your play time? Hmm, I'm sure that's a real surprise to them.
And yes, I do enjoy reading complaint threads like this one, it amuses me. Not riling people up, but pointing out redundancy, self entitlement, and general circular logic. It's a hobby.
But by all means, carry on. Good luck with whatever it is you are trying to accomplish in this thread.
Like I said, it matters when its the only time you can actually do things with others. People have real lives. It would actually be alot better if it was a whole day, or hell even if it was 2 days but they gave us prior notice. The thing is that its spread out over multiple days in multiple weeks over multiple hours. If it was one or two hours here or there, or like i said before a whole day but with notice, it really woudlnt be a thing. When its 3-4 days in a week during peak hours or before reset or during the beginning/end of the week when people are trying to knock out coil it becomes a problem. Maybe it doesn't affect you and maybe thats why you have an indifferent stance on it. Who knows. But it definitely affects others, and time is always valuable. If someone freed up time because they love playing the game and it was the only time they could play it just to find that it was shut down yet again during a particular week, how do you think they would feel? Looking at it from a simply monetary stand point is not a very good way to understand the real issue. Not all people look at it as being worth just as much as the literal subscription costs via time. Some look at it as taking up their own time, which for most people is worth more than what... 40 cents a day?
Still just repeating myself to people who only understand the money perspective or refuse to look at it from a different point of view. I really don't get why people go out of their way to voice their indifference to something. But neither here nor there...
Also... NOT THAT ITS ABOUT DEMANDING COMPENSATION, but doesn't the "its only 40 cents argument" work both ways then? Whats the harm of Square in maybe considering my previous suggestion and giving users an extra day to make up for these maints? "It's only 40 cents".
Your reasoning goes both ways, and that's exactly what I mean by people refusing to look at both sides of the issue and/or not consider things from a perspective other than their own.

@Emehsi I tried to read what you were saying but started laughing and gave up. I personally don't understand why not being able to play a game for a day is such an issue. There are other games / RL stuff to do. So you miss a day of coil or something? So what?
It's not about the compensation. Demands compensation.
No SE, don't patch the game. It's perfect as is.
I'm sorry, but these two comments are the most ridiculous things I've heard so far. It might surprise you that SE only takes the game down for maintenance when it's absolutely necessary. They don't just shut the game off for no reason other than to annoy players. And patching is an essential part of that - it's the only way bugs and faults are fixed (patches don't just add new content and stuff to the game - they include bug fixes as well).
So next time something goes wrong with your account and you demand "fix it now SE!" maybe stop and think that's exactly the reason why they take the game offline so much. To fix these very issues and to keep the game from breaking down.
Enki...ya know I was being sarcastic right?
