The new RMT tricks

On Diabolos server the RMTs are now spaming friend invites alongside the spam /tell . And you can not decline from the notification box. You have to go to the friends list and decline then blacklist. I told a GM about this today and there working on it . I wonder if the same tactics are being used on other servers as well.

I think a great idea for SE to stop RMT fast is to make characters in the cities to monitor the spam tells and shouts then delete and block that IP address . Sounds simple to me .

I had this happen to me today as well. I did a search for console commands and was flabbergasted that /decline did not work for friend requests! It only works for Party requests! RMT accounts have figured this out and are taking advantage of it!

With this new tactic when I right click on their name after they have submitted their "Friend Request" the only options I have is Accept Request and Send Tell. I should be able to right click the UI Friend request or right click their name and decline there.

Would be even better if there was an console command like /declinefriend so I can macro it. I like making it a 1 button affair.

I regularly submit RMT activity through Support/ In game Cheating. but there are just so many! And while this IS the offical way to report RMT. It is dishearting to never know if SE ever reads these reports.

Blocking an IP address could end up blocking valid players due to the handling of some IPs. the RMT could be your neighbor just has to reset the router to get a new IP and yours resets and you can be the blocked IP address. so that's not a good way to handle it.

Blocking IP addresses/ranges would be a disaster for some players if not entire ISP networks - like mine!
My ISP (Kingston Communications/Karoo) is local ISP servicing my city and some of the surrounding county and it uses dynamic IPs so my address periodically changes along with several of my RL friends/players on on here; so we could get banned accidently by havin been moved to a banned IP by our internet provider. I'm also sure we're not the only players on KC's/Karoo's network.

Ok heres what we know about this new thing: Friend selling?
Turns out that if you friend someone it removes the restriction of tells by low level players.
allowing the new player the ability to repeatedly spam the player with messages again

method to fix it: New player under 20 hours since creation / and certain level can not send friend invites.

my extremest methods of perma fixing all Gil Selling
1: any new players whom you as a player have no interacted with on your part can not interact with you.
as in. if a new player in Ul dah, tries to message a player in gridania without having traveled there first and being under the time and level
restrictions will be UNABLE TO MESSAGE SAID PLAYER

My Tits end Fudge all low level players resolve would be:
Options menu: prevent all messages, interactions with players under level XX

Freaking BOOM DONE. if i want to interact with a low level then it should nul/void

2 new players should be able to communicate

Just limit tells for players with less than a week of playtime. 1 tell per 20 minutes or whatever. Fair for everyone.

It happend on my server as well. Fortuantely(?) there was just one bot atm.
