    First off we don't know if this is a DDoS attack or something else. let's not jump to conclusion and mass hysteria here. Secondly we just have to wait to hear from SE on this situation.

    Well, mass-hysteria would be saying its a hack. DDoS is likely, however, as it was sudden and the servers are still showing as up by SE.

    Well they ARE up, I mean I'm currently logged in, even did a ST and logged out and back in while they were supposed to be down. So it's not that the servers are down.

    I did say they are technically up (showing as up = up technically), but most people can't get on due to way too much traffic. So they are also down at the same time.

    So, its highly likely its a DDoS going on.
