    QoL Suggestion - Account-Locked Achievements

    Okay, I'll elaborate:

"If you unlock an achievement on a character, that achievement will unlock on every character you have and will have."

This is the only way I will ever really consider making an alt. I mean, I really want to. But having to hash out a ton of achievements I've already unlocked all over again is just plain silly. Especially with the achievements only unlocking arbitrary glamour pieces and titles with nothing at all gamebreaking.

And maybe I'm just shortsighted, but I see absolutely no real issue with this suggestion. If I did, this is where I would mention it.

If people like this suggestion, great! If they don't, please explain why. But if you do explain why, I highly suggest reading up on tact and putting it into practice so this doesn't devolve into a ragefest. Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that you don't want to make an alt because you're not interested in playing without the glamour pieces/titles that you get from achievements?

I could see this being used for commendations. Should be a player (not only character) reward.

I think this is a good idea. A lot of people are content with their single character and don't ever have to worry about what they get on which character, but as someone who has eight, that's definitely something on my mind when I'm doing things. The way I see it...we're paying more to have more than one character, right? Why not make certain things account-wide, then? That goes for trading and item binding as well, but that's a subject for another topic.

What achievements are you talking about specifically? Do you mean the "kill so many enemies" for points that have no purpose whatsoever? Or do you mean progression in main and side quest that unlocks retainers, airship, dungeons?

WoW did this a while ago, all characters all share the same achievements on one account, regardless of server.

    It just makes sense.

For certain achievements I can see why it might be a good thing for characters to share achievements.

Say for example you want to start an alt character for a second raid group, or for casual fun and you progress all the way to extreme primals. EX primal PF groups often require you to have previous clears and will check your achievements before allowing you to run with them. If you've beaten titan ex 100 times on your main already, it makes little sense for you to be denied access to playing with experienced players just because you don't have the achievement on your alt character. Of course, you could just tell them and hop on to your main to prove you've cleared the fight before but by that time they could have already picked up a new member to replace you.

I agree with anything that would make this game more alt-friendly

I think you misunderstand. The fact of the matter is that I've earned every single achievement that I have on my Warrior. What sense is there in working hard to earn the exact same achievement twice or more?

It makes sense, and it is sort of in practise when it comes to veteran rewards for example (any rewards you got are automatically given to alts), so I really don't see why not.

Off topic: What are your usual play times in game? there is something I want to /tell you about
