Circling between Rolandberry/Dalamud Red and Regal Purple. Seems like no matter what I feed (RGB/Sheet-Method) it won't get out of there and into the direction of Sooth black. Anyone an idea?

Dalamud Red FTW, it's soooooo pretty, I may choose to come back to this color later.

But moving onward, gonna move toward rolanberry and midnight blue. Fed 12 berries without any 'feather' message so I figured my over feed of apples earlier might be to blame, so I fed 4 plums and got me the feather message. With so much blue, I might skip a step to midnight, or could go horribly wrong. . . we'll see ^.^

soo. . . went to Regal Purple. Not quite the desired direction, but probably just because of all the apples. . . I think I'll try heading toward Royal Blue then, so more plums are required. Took 7 to get the message to pop. check back in a few hours ^.^

Bark Brown right now... anyone an idea how I get towards sooth black from there?

So annoying T-T... I am doing the steps one by one trying to get Soot Black but whenever I get Dalamud Red, it goes to Rolanberry Red, then instead of Midnight Blue feeding berries changes it to Regal Purple for some reason ><;;... 2nd time producing these results.

I feel your pain... I had russet brown and was 2 steps away from Sooth Black and BAM Regal Purple once again. I think for me it's like the 10th time or so I landed on that friggin color.

So when I checked back, I had gone to Gloom Purple, so in an attempt to keep moving along the color path, I gave it 4 berries thinking it would go to Abyssal Blue. After 6 hours, I checked back to find the Royal Blue that I'd been trying to get earlier, I seem to be flip flopping a lot on the map, but still, the colors look fantastic.

Two apples were enough to bump it back to Regal Purple, I'm glad om'nom is showing support for the rainbow brigade, but c'mon now, was supposed to be abyssal blue. XD

Well, is seem to be stuck in the loop I've been reading, trying to get to rolanberry. I checked the spreadsheet and it said that rollanberry needs pears, so I figured since it's like the one thing I haven't fed it, and after 1 pear, I got the feather message, so I'll check back in a few hours.

So, I see a lot of people trying to get to Soot Black. I modified the spreadsheet / calculator I found online to make it work for me because I was having trouble with coloring. So far the spreadsheet seems to work well. I've gotten FC-mates to Grape Purple, Snow White, Soot Black and my last FC-mate is having trouble with Soot Black because he was going to it from Halatali Yellow which suggests that it may be easier to get to it from Desert Yellow than an oddball color.

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I believe I have a formula with a 50/50 chance of getting to Soot Black in one step and getting Deepwood Green or Ink Blue, both are one shade away from Soot Black. Might get Kobold Brown as well, but not sure. From there you have to push it back and forth towards black until you're lucky enough to get the random factor to land on Soot Black. Near as I can tell Soot Black has a few colors very close to it, so it's easy to "miss" your goal.

I might be able to manage to get some people to Soot Black from other colors using my modified calculator spreadsheet that I've been playing with as well. If anyone is interested in my help, let me know. I'm hesitant to just post my formula since there is no guarantee for black and I don't want any backlash from people since the formula is not a cheap one. It requires a lot of darkening fruit. It's starting from Desert Yellow of course.

People who have already invested fruit to darken may be able to take a different route, let me know your color and I might be able to come up with an alternate recipe for you personally. I will check this thread tomorrow after work and see if there's any interest... just having fun with this calculator and would like to see if I can help anyone else!

Loong story short, got stuck in the Regal Purple death trap. Fed her 4 pears

Those 4 pears turned her from Regal Purple to Chocolate Brown ...!
No clue how to approach getting to Soot Black from Chocolate brown but I HAVE to assume it's not that far off now ... right?!?
Anyone know how to swing from this to soot black?

Looking at the info and it seems that Chocolate Brown has a ton of red with blue being the smallest. Should I just use berries?
