    And at some point SE is going to have to address that as well. There's currently no real *need* to ever take off a soul crystal. It's disappointing that classes are basically useless and we only play jobs anyway. I'd rather see all start at 1 and end at 50, so that the two are completely separate experiences. Ninja doesn't need to "evolve" from anything. It can start at 1. Rogue doesn't need to be a "base class" for anything, it can be its own separate experience.

    There is some major retooling that will eventually need to be done because of how SE limited themselves with this current implementation. I hope they start with the new classes being released.

    You do realize how much extra work that is to make 2 separate and distinct jobs instead of one base class & the job specialization, right?

    What could use some work is making the classes more all-purpose and the jobs more specialized for their role. They've sort of botched this on a number of jobs by adding job skills that aren't focused on their specialty, like DPS abilities on tank/heal jobs, utility abilities on DPS jobs or just very niche DPS abilities on DPS classes that are somewhat limited in use. Those type of unfocused abilities *should* have been part of the base class, while the job stone focused purely on abilities to strengthen the role.

    It also sucks that the Novus line is job only, more encouragement to never take the job stone off.

    Here's my take on this statement - yes it would be some work. But that is what they are paid to do, right? They are making money to make an ongoing, engaging, and fun experience for us. That's why we open our wallets. If the only argument to doing something that would clearly help not only the balance of, but the perception of, the game is "sorry, it's too hard", then SE might want to revisit the skill of their development team. I wouldn't expect it overnight. Maybe 1-2 jobs over the course of a couple of patches or even an expansion, but at some point it will have to be addressed and Yoshi-P himself has acknowledged that though he's been pretty quiet about it lately. I guess we will have his answer when ninja and rogue hit.
