Rogue/Ninja Starting Class?

I think you guys are over thinking the situation. It will be as simple as just needing to be beyond the Main Scenario Quest, "When Yugiri Met the Fraternity". How it can go down however, may differ:

A) Must have completed "When Yugiri Met the Fraternity", requiring you to be beyond the 2.0 and 2.1 story arcs, which also in turn require level 50 in at least one job. Rogue will be unlocked though it's unknown method and Ninja will be progressed into.

or

B) Rogue can be unlocked through the on-set as other classes, but unlocking Ninja will require "When Yugiri Met the Fraternity" to be completed.

The way the storyline has played it out, Ninja does not exist on the continent in any form or fashion prior to Yugiri coming to Eorzea with her Doman family. It's very doubtful that we will see some unknown Ninja character who has decided to train people in the art, Yugiri will very likely be the person who teaches you (as she promised in the Main Scenario that she would do). How Rogue plays out however will be up for debate. They could put it right out for everyone to start off with, but lock Ninja or make it so that only people who have progressed beyond 2.2 can access the class.
