I still wish that they would have just done away with classes in 2.0 and went jobs only.
I still wish that they would have just done away with classes in 2.0 and went jobs only.

god, i wish it too... all this talk will not be there if they had droped the class... no one play them anyway... why not simply say that you upgrade your class with the cristal and that all.
by the way, one more point, in a few years, the game will have far more class/jobs available do they must all be available at the start?
another point, it's greatly possible that the guild of the new rogue/ninja will be at the revenant's toll, since most doman are there and will have sense with the talk of yugiri saying she will train adventurer personally (and yes in french she clearly say that she will open a dojo when ready).
It's greatly possible that it's in Limsa, it's not because Yugiri wants to open a dojo that it will be the rogue guild. Also there would be nothing wrong with the scene of 2.2, the problematic scene is maybe :it's greatly possible that the guild of the new rogue/ninja will be at the revenant's toll, since most doman are there and will have sense with the talk of yugiri saying she will train adventurer personally (and yes in french she clearly say that she will open a dojo when ready).
People being surprised that Yugiri fight like a rogue while the player is a rogue too and no one praise him for this, NPCs doesn't care about the player anyway, he is just here to save the world after all !
Except for that part which would be a little weird, that's all, the scene where Yugiri says she wants to learn more about the rogue fighting style wouldn't be any issue, she discovers that there is a style close to her so she is interested and wants to share her knowledge.
Even the Ninja master doesn't have to be a Domian refugee.

The echo can answer this paradox. As it is an example of PIS, plot induced stupidity.
It can show new players a person who could have been a leader of the secret guild who trains them. Then the player ends up in the present time. You know exactly how it was done in 1.0 to 2.0 with minfilia.

Im sure yoshi-p will do whatever he thinks its better. All we can rely on is lore so far, and according to lore, we'd have to wait for 2.2 to get ninja (since rogue could easily be done since the beginning, but then again, we'd have to wait till lv50 to get the job). Or the lv30 rogue quest could lead us to some remote place, and Yugiri (disguised and named ??? or Unknown) would spot us and see the "potential" we have, and after the quest was done we'd go back there so she could train us. And when she DOES appear, she could be like "so we meet again, glad to see a familiar face around here" or asking us to keep their relationship a secret, so it doesn't influenciate in any way when she first "arrives" here. Well, im not the most creative person in the world (im faaaar from it =P) but IF they do decide to let rogue/ninja available from the start, they will find a good reason how.

So apparently some people haven't heard of a plot twist, or changing the nature of a story once new information is gathered. I'll use the star wars angle like someone previously, once you find out Darth Vader is Lukes father it completely changes the way you look at everything prior to that, it's an important point that evolves all the previous plot by adding new information.
This plot device is used constantly throughout many mediums, the FF series employs it in pretty much all of their stories. (Eg Cloud not being Soldier in VII)
This plot device could easily be used to explain why the player is able to become rogue and ninja before the 2.2 story. All it takes is new information to evolve to previous plot. And who's to say Yugiri is definititly the one who trains us, because she offered? Guess what the player can just as easily tell her no, and be trained by someone else, its not that difficult to comprehend.

One thing they could do is that the Rogue/Ninja story has slight differences depending on where the character is currently in the Main Story. These would be similar to the differences between the Main Story for a Legacy and Non-Legacy characters.

I honestly feel you're putting way too much thought into this matter.
New class will function the same way as current classes do. Rogue to 30, another class to 15 then Ninja to 50.
Try not to complicate it's existence into the lore. It will just exist come expansion day.

NIN is not for the expansion, xDI honestly feel you're putting way too much thought into this matter.

People are just theorycrafting how to fit ROG/NIN with the current lore, and Yoshi would have to make a few changes to the 2.2 texts to fit that class right from the beginning
Or it would be strange as hell =P OR he could make that class/job is something like advanced job.

I think you guys are over thinking the situation. It will be as simple as just needing to be beyond the Main Scenario Quest, "When Yugiri Met the Fraternity". How it can go down however, may differ:
A) Must have completed "When Yugiri Met the Fraternity", requiring you to be beyond the 2.0 and 2.1 story arcs, which also in turn require level 50 in at least one job. Rogue will be unlocked though it's unknown method and Ninja will be progressed into.
or
B) Rogue can be unlocked through the on-set as other classes, but unlocking Ninja will require "When Yugiri Met the Fraternity" to be completed.
The way the storyline has played it out, Ninja does not exist on the continent in any form or fashion prior to Yugiri coming to Eorzea with her Doman family. It's very doubtful that we will see some unknown Ninja character who has decided to train people in the art, Yugiri will very likely be the person who teaches you (as she promised in the Main Scenario that she would do). How Rogue plays out however will be up for debate. They could put it right out for everyone to start off with, but lock Ninja or make it so that only people who have progressed beyond 2.2 can access the class.
