Returning player looking for a noob friendly FC

I started at launch, and got myself to 35 as a DRG. I'm just returning and am looking for a FC to help me get back into the game and level. Would prefer mature players, and not-so-hardcore progression. I still work 40 a week, and with a long commute! I'm in EST (UTC - 5). Hope to get some good pm's or replies here!

I'd recommend Covenant of the Phoenix (Cotp) We're a medium-sized FC with an awesome large house in Mist, are very active, raid regularly (T8 down working on T9) and have chapters in almost every current MMO.

Hope you will find what you look for. I am in the same boat than you. Working 40 hrs per week, commuting takes me between 2-3 hrs depending of the traffic >.<

So on weekdays after the chores done and om nom nom, I still can fit a 3 hrs per evening (more if I want to be sleepy at work the next day ). On the weekends, when real life don't take much of my time (I will prioritize real friends and family over a game, mind you ) This is where I can crunch in more.

I'm on EST too lol

So far what an FC can do for you, beyond the social aspect (which is very neat ^^)

- giving you the battle buff, when they can.

- helping you with Dungeon runs or Trials.

- With a Garden and Chocobo stable, you can grow stuff, change to color of your choco and leveling it up (I go the challenge log way, it's going well )

That aside, some things you have to do on your own:

- don't forget to eat your veggies! 3% more XP, every little bit helps!

- Do your story until you achieve lvl 50, ask for help when neeeded, but you will find that: you will be soloing much, except doing dungeons.

Don't forget some have limited time like us and their own progression agenda in mind.

So you can ask for Stone Vigil runs at lvl 41, but don't expect all to be there for you, same at 44 with Dzemael darkhold (first rooms, get out and back again) and 47 Aurum Vale (same thing)

For these runs, I suggest you to use Party Finder, state you want to do mutiple runs, and FC or not, you'll get to 50, where the fun starts! ^^

Thanks for the Advice KoA, I used to be a hardcore player in XI and left for various games. I was here for XIV v1 and came back at the introduction of ARR, and after getting out of a couple years of working in the video game industry and into website work, I am looking forward to enjoying mmo's again. Like you said tho, I work ~40hrs and have a 2-3hr commute. I'm also trying to publish my own pen and paper game, so when that all isn't eating time, I'd like to unwind in-game for a bit.

Thanks for the FC suggestions everyone! I'll look into your threads/sites on lunch today.
