Any way to play Summoner AND Scholar without hindering your attribute points?

There's no way to play both equally. With that said, there's a lot of input in this thread already and a different thread on the healer forums which can be found here.

I'm personally of the camp that 30 INT is the way to go since you want to out put more DPS harder while healing is more about timing than raw power. Still didn't stop me from personally putting 30 MND into my SCH as I'm a healer at heart. Also, the difference is negligible if you aren't doing Coil 2.0 or current EX Primals.

You don't "need" cross class skills ever, but they certainly help in some cases.

Has anyone thought of maybe speccing into MND and using Clerical Stance? Just a thought. Is it even compatible with SMN? I dont have either of those classes yet.(nvm... someone answered in previously)

Either way it seems like an easy solution SE should be implementing already if they cant do the saving of different stat allocations. Give both jobs Intellect as a main stat (since Arcanist are DPS) and just give Scholar an ability like Clerical Stance that switches Int and Mind stats but doesnt penalize healing. They'd have to restat some gear as well I guess.

Putting half of your points into INT and half into MIND? Putting everything into INT anyways even when you which to Scholar?
I'm a sucker for pet classes and I would ideally like to play SCH and SMN, I was wondering if anyone found a way to play both these classes viably without wrong attribute points hindering you and using 10k seals everytime you wanna switch.

The only time your damage would be important is if it significantly lowered the time being spent in the fight. For a long time I raided with unoptimized stat allocations on healer and it didn't effect my team's ability to win the fight at all, so I doubt it would greatly impact the other two roles either.

Uh I think separating their main stat is less complicated than giving them a new skill and changing them to int main, and the stat separation is coming with the expansion anyways.


@OP go 30 INT, the loss of 30 MND is not as noticeable as the loss of 30 INT.

I'm at a loss to understand why SE won't allow Cleric Stance for SMN. Wouldn't that solve this issue? (apart from having to use a cross class action still).

Uh what? What would be the point of using Cleric Stance for SMN? You gain more int from gear than from your stat points, with CS you would end up lowering your damage.

The only viable solution is separating SMN and SCH stats and that will happen soon.

I feel like you're going to be forced to commit to one or the other eventually. Personally, I had a 15/15 split for awhile but found that doing Extreme mode content as SMN was not cutting it. My damage output was just not enough to hit certain caps required for progression. After that, I shelled out the 10k seals and changed my attribute points to 30 MND and am gearing my SCH. I'm not saying swear off SMN or SCH but pick the one you enjoy playing most for top-tier end-game and spec for it. For hunts, questing, daily roulette, whatever else you can play either and not have it impact much.

Erm, pretty sure it swaps the attributes completely, including bonuses from gear. Doesn't it? TBH, I've not actually checked, but the spell description makes it sound like it should.
