While I'm all for adding alot of fun fluff to the game I'm a bit torn about achievements.

First I want to say this opinion isn't coming from a past casual player in other games. I had well over the average amount of points in another popular game that I won't mention. My biggest concern is, from what I've seen in the community is they are more often judged as what you "haven't done" than what you "have done". i.e It basically does exactly the opposite of it's intention.

The idea in itself is cool, but I think a better implementation would be to have it rewarding exploration and the RPG aspects of the game rather than how much content you've grinded or if you were lucky enough to have a decent linkshell. Sadly my creativity is lacking so I don't have alot of ideas on how this would work but I'm sure it can.

Example: ( Looking for LNC for (X) dungeon! please have achievement! ) This only leads to more and more trouble for new players, a never ending stream of bickering and upset in the community. It's been going on in other games since the release of achievements.

Personally, I doubt I'll ever have this issue myself but I'd hate to see it degrade the community in ways not fitting to its reputation.
