Garuda-Eggi & Levi EX

I have a question that crossed my mind yesterday while trying to beat Levi EX. I saw the Summoner using Garuda Eggi on the head. I was wondering if hitting the tail wouldnt be a better choice or is that because Garuda eggi is considered using *magic* thus not doing any damage on the tail, that we use it on the head?

The summoner and Garuda both should be attacking the head. I couldn't even begin to tell you why that summoner split it up that way.

Head takes magical dmg, tail takes physical dmg. Garuda does magical (foe requiem buffs her) so garuda should hit head as well. Smn can use dots on tail though, caster gets like 500-1k dmg himself but has 6 dots running on the boss if you trust your healers.

ok that was my question if Garuda's attacks were considered magical although there is nothing magical in it since it uses wind.

I'd say that it's not out of the realm of possibility that a glowing, floating, bird-lady creature using the power of wind to attack could be considered magical

To be fair, the game is occasionally a little weird about which attacks it flags as magical vs. physical, but the majority of non-arrow projectile attacks, element added or no, are treated as magical.

I was just curious, to me it did sound weird that wind would be magical lol and since testing is kind of no no in a thing like Levi EX well no other choice then asking !!! .thanks again!!

Well, remember that it isn't that the tail won't take damage from magic, it just reflects it back after the damage. You can "test" by letting Garuda attack head then tail. She'll take damage from hitting tail but not head. That's also why as a summoner you can set your Bio/Bio 2/Miasma on both head and tail as Mvenom said for double the damaging goodness, though you'll take a good 1000 or so damage from all 3 reflected, so be wary when you do this.

yes that I know, but alas during the game itself you cant really test that as such so asking in these boards seem to be the solution. I did ask the group but even the summoner himself wasnt able to answer as to whether Garuda's attacks were infact magical or not. Some other person answered but said dint know for sure and so for most.

I have noticed that people do things because it has to be done that way without really knowing why.

Sounds like a mimic of the melee strat, particularly drg at the start can strip hate easily off the tail with burst. Doting both reduces your over all hate since they are 2 different hate tables without much dps loss.

The other immediate bonus i see in smn case if they have both head and tail dotted they have bane options for the adds.
