'World data could not be obtained' - What in the world is going on?

My game dc'd about 10 minutes ago and I can't seem to get back in due to a error.

At first I couldn't even get to character screen. But after a few tries, I went the 'long' way by selecting my Data Center first and selecting my account. Then now I'm in the Character Screen; now I get the error as stated in title.

Last thing I remember before DC'ing was that the PF was empty (probably caused by whatever was happening), them boom dc.

Could the DDoS be affecting XIV servers as a whole now?

I think Gilgamesh just went down. There's a group of 7 of us in a call and we all d/c'd roughly at the same time. A couple of us were doing T-T HM, so we're just blaming Edda.

wouldn't be surprised if Square was the next company to be targeted by this series of ddos attacks going on today. NOTE: no confirmation on it but apparently the servers are still up, we just cannot connect to them.

Edit: It's not just Gilgamesh, it's the data centers.

Confirmed Gilgamesh is down for me too(error 1014). Would need more reports to know if its only Gilga or Aether datacenter.

I have a 2nd character I made at release on Gaia//Valefor and no login issues there

weird. I'm on Gilgamesh too, but I can't even connect to the data centers atm.

There's a reddit post on the issue. There are a couple of people from other servers, but I'd say about 90% of the people commenting on this error are from Gilg.
