Freely log-in to the forum when there is no subscription.

This is what I want to ask the devs that can you make this possible for everyone? When I stop subscribed for real life stuffs, I want to go to the forum and helping my FC thread to recruit more members and also discuss on some conversations around the forum.

But with the system right now that stop you log-in to the forum when you don't subscribe, then what is the point of a forum? How can I help people, give in touch with my friends?

Please consider about this.

I take this free log-in event to say I agree with the Opening Post (OP).

I love this game, and what the producers did to revive it before ARR. But to segregate the community from those "who pay" and those who "can't pay" is wrong. No game design or marketing pitch is more effective than word of mouth yet why are returning players stuck with no means to reacquaint themselves to the community? You can easily understand why most players just don't want to wait for the next free log-in event to voice their opinions about FF XIV.

I just hope something can come from posting here.

Nothing personal, but... There would be people posting who no longer play spamming the forums making more work for the moderators to sort through and delete spam messages. There are already plenty enough spam messages from people who paid a certain amount of time that decided not to play and take their anger out on the forums the entire time until their subs ended or they were banned.

No offense taken, but your point about increasing work is unfounded. You are not a moderator for SE. I can see the possibility of you having moderator experience, but you're still not working for SE. So it easily follows that you can't possibly know how much work they can or cannot handle. But you have raised point of counter arguement on their part. This means the issue has meaning and the thread is something worth while which cannot be regarded as spam.

However, this isn't just about spam, but about retaining connection between players. I don't think I'm the only one that can't pay via credit card, time card, or blocked from game servers because of their ISP's new policies. There could be more reasons that explains why it's out of the player's power. It's this group of players this thread represents.

Besides, I don't think there are unlimited spam/bullying/troll accounts on this forum. Malicious poster's would have to buy multiple accounts and that's money to SE's armory to combat trouble makers.

This. If we had everybody and their mothers posting, it would be a hell hole. No offense OP, but this is a terrible idea! It does suck that you can't help your FC company out, though. But it would do more damage than help

I'd like it to be freed up. After today, I will no longer be able to get help through these forums, which is something I need if I am ever to sort out all these asinine billing errors, as Customer Support is worse than useless...

hmmm.... strange... I was able to still log in when I deactivated for a while between April and June. Was only for a couple months though... perhaps there is a delay in the cut off after you deactivate. It wouldn't keep me logged in overnight like it does now that I am active again so I would have to key in my password and one time password each day--but was still able to sign-in and post and such. FFXI would keep you active until the next billing cycle, maybe a similar thing happens here. Who knows. Try signing in again after you've deactivated.

You seem to be right; it's long past the free log-in event. Maybe you'll also be right on the 'end of the month' part too. Still, some official clarification on the justification on this exclusion policy would be nice.

Edit: If people can still log in to forums after a few weeks, i think this thread is closed.

As long as you have had an account before, I believe you should be allowed to continue using the forums. However, I don't believe that people who have not bought the game, should be permitted to use the forums, because of trolls, spammers, ect.
