    They won't. It happened when every 360 had a maintance. FFXIV is a different service provider.

    But you have to go through Sony to get to SE servers to play FFXIV. Sony going down has disrupted that service so they should pay for the day that you had missed out on.

    The problem is that any compensation would have to come from Sony and if Sony compensated every company for free time given away, they'd probably go bankrupt. What you're forgetting right now is that it's not just FFXIV that's affected. PS4 users that play online multiplayer games like BF4, Diablo 3 etc are all affected. Can you imagine how much money it'd take for SE to compensate all those companies? It's just not possible at all.
