    Future of Action bars?

So, I'm just curious... Is the dev team thinking about what they are going to do moving forward (Obviously after the changes and duh they are thinking ahead but I digress) with the action bars? The idea of coarse assuming Level cap will get raised at SOMEPOINT.

What I mean by this is... Ok I currently have 3 bars... and my Conj is pretty much loaded for every slot. So I guess I'm wondering are we just gonna see "II's" and "III's" of everything that will just replace what we currently have, or are they going to give us more points and another bar (If this would be nice to have more than one display at a time), or just more points?

I guess this just kinda seems like a brick wall to me, so it would be cool to get some insight and pick some brains on the dev team to kinda know what they are thinking about this. Anyway if not no biggie, just curious.

If anyone Is curious about this as well I encourage you to respond. lol

I can not be the only one that seriously sees a future problem with the current way the UI and action bar and equipping of actions and what not is laid out.

You start adding more classes/jobs/abilities/spells and this system is gonna run out of breathing room... unless they just rehash II's III's that will just replace each other.

I understand this is supposed to be like how you do your "build" but I can just see it getting very very annoying doing a million builds per class... trying to get macros set up for each one, because the system won't remeber unless its a different class etc...

Maybe this is the point in the job system... to streamline this, but I have a hard time believing that the jobs will have a totally different UI for battle.

Which brings up an additional question... will jobs be stuck to just their set of abilities or will you be able equip class abilities on to the bar with them?

Maybe I am crazy, just seems like its going to be an awkward fit, so I personally would like to hear about some of ideas being tossed around for this.

Lol not to sound negative but half this game feels like an "awkward fit" as you so put it, though getting better. I am starting to like the game again, the recent changes helping with that.. but I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't even put much forethought into it.

Action bars is one thing wow did right. Not very controller friendly though. God I hate multi-platform GUIs

I don't think it sounds negative at all.

The job system as a whole kinda has me concerned in addition to the way we do our "builds", equip actions w/e you want to call it.

Off topic and more on jobs... its going to be really weird if it works in a totally different way than classes, I understand the specialization thing... but If it has "special" rules for it... its going to be really strange. Like oh classes can cross class skills but Jobs can't or... will they be able to?

And to be honest, I don't really know how I feel about the "Classes being solo" and "Jobs being party" that feels kinda lame to me. What I mean by that is, kinda lame that a solo person cant be a "Black Mage" or w/e just because he wants to solo, and once jobs are added will the classes not be as welcome in parties? These are things I worry about.

In my opinion it would just be nice if everything was balanced out on sort of a semi equal level as opposed to just saying "ok... well classes are weird, so we are going to make jobs and pile it on top of the weirdness... with our ideas" or maybe I'm wrong, but they have been pretty quite about it so all I can do is speculate. /shrug

Hm. I'm not high rank by any means, but do you actually get enough action points at rank 50 to have more actions than you have slots?

Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.

Well some of the actions are 0 and then if u have shield it just takes up another one, then if u have throwing that's another. but ya Mine is pretty much packed full as 46 conj I don't personally have throwing as a side note.

I can't speak for DoW but my concern is more for the future not so much right now. I mean like I said you start raising caps and then you will get more points...abilities,classes jobs etc.. I guess the only way to balance that would to make things cost more points once cap is raised... I mean if the solution is just to make II's and III's of everything those can just replace the lower tier ones. but you start getting a boat load of unique abilities and ur bars gonna be a cluster f***.

But ya if you equip a bunch of low costing actions u can fill that sucker.

I mean I think this is going to be more of a problem for mages not so much DoW but again I can't really speak for them.

Im not sure how i feel about jobs being party and classes being solo either.. to an extent. I agree that parties need specialized roles, and specializing jobs achieves that. That's great, but hopefully they can do well soloing too :/

Nothing was as mean as my max eva, merited thf/nin with full haste gear. That'll never happen again lol but still, a specialized class still able to solo if equipped/skilled up and played right etc.

Guess we can do nothing but wait until they implement it, then tell them what we think. I'll continue hoping for the best though.
