    Noobish hunt question

I haven\\'t spent much time hunting so I don\\'t get it entirely yet. Yesterday I fought Naul alongside 3 other people. I was the one that pulled it and kept agro throughout the fight but got no allied seals?? Is that because I didn\\'t have the hunting bill for Naul? Do you only get seals for hunts you have the bills for?

Naul is a B rank. B ranks only give rewards to those with the weekly hunt bill for them. A's and S's still give seals/tomes as normal.

I'll chime in with a newb question... how do I tell a B from an A from an S when I run into them out in the world?

Generally Bs are smaller than As which are smaller than Ss.
Bs are passive and will not attack you until attacked while As and Ss are aggressive and will attack once they notice you.

And S-ranks you'll know are nearby from the endless flood of INV in your chatbox. More seriously, those tend to be pretty enormous and hard to mistake. B-ranks are basically up all the time and are only good for the weekly hunt bill you pick up at your Grand Company office. As far as telling what's a B or an A from sight, memorization over time for me did the trick, tho the aggro thing that Moomba33 pointed out is true.

I printed this reddit list. They are sorted by location as opposed to rank.
    Hopefully it will help.

If you are really serious about hunting, this website is commonly used to track when A and S rank hunts become available.
    Hunt Tracker
    Just select your server.

Additionally, try and get added to a Hunt link shell for call out announcements.

Why does there need to be all these third-party websites for an in-game feature that should do it just as well? Or does SE not have the "capacity" to gives players in game a way to track Hunts?

I have only ever fought hunts when stumbling on them or a shout is involved, is there nothing in the game to tell me when something is going to spawn?

e.g. having xivdb mimic lodestone is cool, but why do these hunt sites exist OUTSIDE of the game? o.0

It is not about capacity, it about philosophy. The hunts are suppose to be "rare" monsters that just appear, that what SE intended for them.
The third party website just helps with a look behind the curtain, of how to trigger, when / where these monsters will appear. A look that SE cannot officially support due to the philosophy.

Hunting still takes place; an A rank will re-spawn between 3 and 4 hours after it was last killed. If you were not playing and wanted to kill a specific A rank, you might know it pops in East Shroud but you would be stuck searching that map for a very long time if it had died just before you began your personal hunt.

3 hours after death, the hunt window opens and the A rank can spawn any time during the next hour.
4 hours after death, the A rank is forced to spawn.
The hunters still have to find where it spawned though, as it will spawn at random coordinates.

    Thankyou for that explanation.
