Some of the fault could lie with sony, though. The person who hacked them said he was able to do so because they allow modded ps4s running custom firmware to log in to PSN. The same group has tried unsuccessfully to do the same to MS's servers but XBL hasn't been reported as having the kind of service outages that PSN users are experiencing. Food for thought.
